For the 2024-2025 school year, Carroll County Schools will be offering no cost breakfast and lunch to all students regardless of income through the Community Eligibility Program. The CEP allows schools with high percentages of low-income students to offer no cost breakfast and lunch to all students without collecting household applications. The Community Eligibility Provision positively impacts families by providing financial relief, reducing stigma, simplifying administrative processes, supporting children's academic and nutritional needs, and encouraging regular school attendance. CEP helps to create a more stable and nurturing environment for children and their families.

For the 2024-2025 school year, applications for free and reduced meals are not needed. All students will receive free breakfast and lunch regardless of family income.

Attention, Georgia Drivers!

Starting now, it's illegal to drive trucks with the front end raised significantly higher than the rear. This measure is designed to improve road safety by ensuring better visibility and control.

It is unlawful to alter the suspension system of any motor vehicle which may be operated on a highway in such a manner that the frame height is elevated or lowered more than 6 inches above or below the manufacturer's recommendation.
-All vehicles are covered-passenger cars, trucks, etc.

It is unlawful for the front of a vehicle with a gross vehicle weight between 4,000 and 7,500 pounds to be more than 4 inches above or below the rear.

If your truck is modified this way, make sure to adjust it to avoid fines and penalties.

Keep our roads safe.

Drive safely, Douglas!

Happy Tuesday, friends!

We posted this last year, but we get questions frequently, so I think it's worth repeating. 😉

We get questions frequently regarding firearm carry laws in Georgia and we understand that staying informed can be challenging, as it appears to be constantly evolving. It is crucial to remain up to date on these regulations. Here's the current information you need to know:

🔫 Constitutional Carry: Georgia has been a constitutional carry state for approximately a year now (now nearly 2 years). This means that individuals who are legally eligible to possess a firearm can carry it "concealed" or "open" in most situations. Having said that, don't go waving your firearm around in places like the courthouse—there are still a few exceptions, of course! 😉

Also, you DO NOT need a Georgia Weapons Carry Permit anymore!
To ensure you have the most accurate and current information about Georgia's weapon carry laws (including ages, locations, etc), we recommend referring to GeorgiaCarry.Org. They are an excellent resource and can provide you with all the details you need.
