We present the NOLA Music Awards, a centralized awards showcase giving appropriate appreciation, respect and honor to our national and local artists who have exemplified the essential aspects of Jazz and Urban Culture. NOLA Music Awards will be a three day event filled with jam sessions, seminars, live-art installations, and cyphers, culminating in the end event, the awards show. With respected re
ferences and influences from jazz greats such as the late great Louis Armstrong and Fats Domino, as well as hip-hop artists like Soulja Slim & Magnolia Shorty, New Orleans maintains the pulse of music. The NOLA Music Awards contributes to the local youth by providing internship and mentorship opportunities with music and stage production throughout this event. Our mission is to empower creative young people to become successful adults. We provide educational experiences in the arts and entrepreneurship to New Orleans-area children and youth, fostering and supporting their individual ambitions. Protecting Our Culture: NOLA Music Awards and Protect New Orleans are teaming up to focus on community and revitalization to highlight its strength and resiliency, by providing the information, resources and motivation for the community to move forward from within. It imperative that we gain support from the New Orleans entertainment community so that we can stand in unison to protect our music and entertainment culture for future generations. We believe entertainment is the one area that has the most effect on our youth, therefore if we come together on one accord, we can effect a greater positive and global impact on society and culture, than any other relevant force in the world. We, as supporters of entertainers, have a duty to ensure that our youth and culture not only survive, but that they thrive and carry on the work of those who came before them.
