I started my talk with a wit question, "have you seen a blind trader?"

As I strongly believe that there are a lot of trader who are stuck on their losing cycle:
win-big win-unexpected loss-revenge trade-liquidated

And one of the main reason is, a lot of traders are trying to suppress what they feel rather processing it why they feel it in the first place.

Whenever traders feel anxious brought by the market's uncertainty, they don't know what to do.
Whenever traders received an unwanted outcome on their ex*****on, revenge is the natural action toward it; revenge learning as if your knowledge is still not enough even though they already memorize almost all trading strategies available out there, and the easier one, revenge trading.

A consistent losing trader will always blame something or someone:
📉Bano ng coach ko
📉Panget ng market
📉Panget ng news
📉Panget ng signal
But not their own self.

Thus making them blind by their own process, a trader who are not familiar with his own edge, winrate, market playstyle, average holding period, tolerable loss and many factor that can be measured and the funny thing is most of traders are aware of this but subconsciously choose not to. Well, facing reality is indeed overwhelming but, there's no other way.

Trading is about creating certain decision in uncertain environment.

And you know what's worse than being blind? Is having sight without vision.

While waiting for my first meeting of the week, I had a quick eat here at Kanto Freestyle and I saw one of our student from batch Hajime.

By the way, he was the first student of our community who get funded and we had a good chit chat that I would like to share.

Crit G: yooo kamusta grabe nakasalubong pa kita dito
Crit G: How's life so far?
Jade: all goods naman
Crit G: How's your account?
Crit G: pano mo binabalance yung work at trading ngayon?
Jade: pag break time tapos may set up pasok lang, pag nakauwi na ko tapos wala pa ding set up, tulog na lang kasi hindi pasok sa style ko ung NY session, gustong gusto ko mga continuation na set up kasi ayun ung mga favorite ko.

I learned a lot from this encounter where they learn from their own perspective and customize it based on their experience.

3 years ago, At the same place, here in Cebu, I told myself that this will be my last coaching. It was a week-long offline bootcamp where I poured out my theoretical and experiential knowledge to aspiring Cebuano traders. Ayoko na mag-turo, gusto ko na lang maging hotdog sa ref namin pa-chill chill lang at walang responsibility but my own trades.

When I went back in Manila, I still receive queries if I still teach but my plain response is just a simple "no" or pag makulit ang sinasabi ko naman ay"try mo si coach ganito kasi di na ko nag tuturo ehh"

Then, there was this one guy, itago na lang natin sa pangalang Ramen, he was so persistent to learn from me even if I keep on referring him to try learning from other coach. Sa anim na buwan na pangungulit nya, I gave in, I thought him things na sobrang basic and I ask him about his dream, He wanted to start a Ramen University where people can learn what is web3 through it and within 6 months, we collaborate it and Gainers Ground was born.

It gave me a lot or realization na madaming tao ang nagkakaron ng ibang perspective on the way we reimagine and reinvent thing base on what struggling traders' pain point and what could be their common ground. This moment refire my commitment not only to excellence but also to those who believes in us.

3 years ago, I had my last offline coaching and today, nabigyan ako ng pagkakataon na magkaron ulit ng solo appearance sa lugar na ito. You will always have a special place to me, Cebu!

Let's talk about trading confidence.

All of the answers I received was right. Backtest, front test, journal and personal data analysis. You really need to be competent before you become confident.

But then again ilang months o years ka nang nag ba-backtest, front test, journal at alam mo na nga kung ilang yung average winrate, average risk-to-reward ratio and average holding hrs mo, alam mo na din what is the best time to trade for your T.A to work, pero bakit hindi ka pa din confident?

Do you wanna know why? Maybe, because you are not really building confidence but arrogance.

There is a fine line between confidence and arrogance.

Arrogant traders put their trust in the system ALONE,
"eto yung sabi sa sistema ko, eto lang yung mangyayari sa market, pag mali yung nangyari, mali yung market"

They love proving other traders wrong
"tuloy pa ba yang analysis mo? ako kasi tama, ikaw mali"

Arrogant traders are so great technically and because of that, they are prone on being too sure with theirselves, and because of that making them risk more than what they can afford to lose.

Confident traders on the other hand, put their trust on the system at syempre, sa sarili nila.
"Eto yung sinabi sa sistema ko, kung eto ung gusto ng market, within this timeline eto na ung mga potential result nya, I will accept na I am wrong when this happen"

Confident traders also focus on how they can improve even more
"This was what happened to me this week, I was trying to keep on longing the declining market, hindsight na ngayon pero aminado ako na mali ako dito sa side na to, maybe I should look at the bigger picture and what could potentially happen next week"

The basic fine line between the 2 is; arrogant traders are addicted to being right, whereas confident traders can tank their errors and still make rational trading decision.

Regardless of strategies, there are only 2 players in the market.

1. Those who are humble
2. Those who are going to be humbled.

So pano nga ba mag-build ng trading confidence?

29/03/2024

Nope, I am dead serious telling you right now to just give up.

It's pretty normal to have this kind of thought and it's really dangerous if hindi man lang sumagi sa isip mo to, but then again I will repeat my advice; just give up because your current self is not compatible with your current challenge, and if you keep on trying, you will keep on failing.

Our cellphone's operating system have an annual update, cellphone's app like facebook gets a regular update, our character in online game needs to level up to face new challenges and I hope you know what I am trying to say right now, you are trying to conquer a dungeon with your current level and expecting different result everytime you try, and everytime you try, you fail.

Well, the giving up that I am talking about is not about losing, it's about accepting that you cannot YET, and you need to level up yourself so you can have a better chance in conquering your challenge.

Ano ba yung maling inu ulit ulit mo?

Awareness is first step yes, and most of the time a lot of people are well-aware and well-informed with what's wrong yet they fail to take action.

Give up na, walang silbi yang malayo ka pa pero malayo ka na IF you don't evolve in the process. In order to become who you want, you must to sacrifice who you are.
