It’s National Storytelling Week, so we’re taking a look at the lessons we can learn from the ancient art of storytelling to be better at sharing stories with our children. Stories have been at the heart of human communication since we first began to speak around 100,000 years ago. We are ALL sto...

Another lovely shelfie from BookBairn this time it’s for 🌱 🌳 🌸 🥕

Our favourite from these would have to be The Last Tree 🌳

To end I thought I’d share a little garden shelfie with some of my favourite picture books that share the wonder of being in the garden.

Some of these are beautiful stories about how a garden can change perspective, support you when you need it, provide a space of comfort and remembrance. Others celebrate the wonder of the plants and creatures you might find in the garden.

We spend a lot of time in our garden and over the better weather months it becomes an additional room. The bairns play so well together outside, and I love to read al fresco. We are so lucky to have the space we do but I’m no green fingered sort and I like a low maintenance garden so it’s become a little bit wild. But if The Wall and the Wild is anything to go by a little rewilding could be to our benefit as well as the birds and beasties.

For my birthday I’m getting new garden furniture so I’ll be even more comfortable reading al fresco!

Hope you’ve had a lovely weekend and feeling recharged for the next week. Ours is the first ‘normal’ week in ages so hopefully it will be a quiet but busy one!

(Shelfie features books previously sent for review.)

Also just noticed has tagged her shelfie which is just perfect so I’m pinching that!
