A canoe from the Scia'new Tribe from Beecher Bay , Vancouver Island, BC, Canada, approaches the beach at Fort Worden State Park in Port Townsend and stops to ask permission to land and rest for the night before continuing their journey to the Puyallup Tribe, near Tacoma, during the annual Intertribal Canoe Journey on Friday. Fourteen canoes from tribes around the Salish Sea took part in the journey and were greeted by their hosts, the Jamestown S'klallam Tribe, who granted permission for each canoe to land.
