As of late, I have developed a keen interest in finding innovative ways to promote this wonderful island of ours that I think is a blessing to all citizens to have such gracious shores to call home. Business owners across the globe are realizing the power of the mobile devices. The App Revolution is here. I am now trying to harness the power of the smart phones that majority of tourist (and prospective visitors to the island) are carrying with them all the time With your own iPhone or iPhone App, you can reach out and touch these people. I am currently in the process of building and designing an app to target this market and feature our island. Business owners everywhere are seeing the future of Apps and the value in having a mobile app for businesses, increasing brand visibility, customer loyalty, promotional ability and overall interaction with our clients. By utilizing countertop displays or window posters that will help harness the power of this powerful marketing medium we can increase out overall tourism product. Motivation

Upon review of the budget address I realized that the tourism industry was seeking ways to promote Saint Lucia and our products. “It is hoped that we can continue to find creative ways to promote Saint Lucia, including the use of our national talents, crafts, entertainment and products.” I realized that the marketing of our hotels, tours and services was limited in terms of reaching a great target audience. The availability of an application to pe*****te this wider market would be an asset to out tourism industry. Target Audience

The company is the largest technology company in the world by revenue and profit, more than Google and Microsoft combined. On release of an app for download in the app store we are looking at targeting 100 million users worldwide. Future tourists who are interested in visiting our country would have the ability to see our tourism product. Tourist and business people would have a better appreciation of our product and a direct feel of the island from an application’s graphical user interface.

the market volume and its opportunities?

• Majority of apps are paid: only about 20% of apps are free. AppStore users are ready to buy. It is my humble dream for my country to be a contender on the world stage with other nations. With the implementation of the application described above I think I can contribute towards making this dream a reality. With such an application avenues will be provided for our hotels and business places to advertise to a greater target audience worldwide.
