Tracking Francine Update: Hurricane Francine (now tropical storm) has already dropped massive amounts of rainfall causing flash flooding across much of costal Louisiana and Mississippi. Surface winds in the meridian area have steadily holding 15 mph gusting to 25. Total rainfall accumulation is expected to be north of 2 inches. There has been some small tornadic activity detected in the form of Tornado vortex signatures on radar. Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible across a large area from the Middle Mississippi Valley into eastern Oklahoma, East Texas, and the Lower Mississippi Valley on Thursday.

The forecast for timing and location will change over the next couple of days, so make sure you keep up with the latest at weather.gov or another trusted source. Also take the time now to think about what you and your family would do in a warning, and make sure you have multiple ways to receive warnings.
