As we make our way into Monday an Enhanced risk of severe weather is hanging right over central MS, areas like Jackson Meridian, and Greenville in this risk area. New charts have prompted the NOAA NWS Storm Prediction Center to issue an Enhanced risk for thunderstorms producing hail and wind speed in excess of 60mph. A tornado strong tornado or two is also possible with this upcoming system stay tuned to our media for more updates on this upcoming event.

New from the National Weather Service’s Storm Prediction Center

Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible across a large area from the Middle Mississippi Valley into eastern Oklahoma, East Texas, and the Lower Mississippi Valley on Thursday.

The forecast for timing and location will change over the next couple of days, so make sure you keep up with the latest at weather.gov or another trusted source. Also take the time now to think about what you and your family would do in a warning, and make sure you have multiple ways to receive warnings.
