I was reminded of the Oscar Wilde quote, "An idea that is not dangerous is unworthy of being called an idea at all" when I heard of the passing of Steven Wise. I interviewed him twice on the podcast and also had the privilege of watching him argue cases in court. That it's still considered "dangerous" to view non-human animals as sentient individuals instead of mere property speaks volumes as to where we are as a species. Steven dared to be "dangerous" and was often ridiculed for it, but he was right.
