We are very excited to announce our latest traffic safety initiative, Operation BlueRide.

Operation BlueRide provides each of the 11 bars in Falls Township with two prepaid $20 Lyft vouchers tonight, Saturday night, and Sunday night during the Superbowl.

Any person who is too intoxicated to drive and who is incapable of making alternative, safe arrangements for transportation can see any establishment staff member who will provide them with the QR Code to activate the voucher and get them home safely.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration states that drunk driving incidents spike by 40% on Super Bowl Sunday in comparison to other days of the year. In addition to Sunday's spike, the entire weekend also experiences increased potential for drunk driving incidents.

To combat this phenomenon, we've increased our patrol to address intoxicated drivers but also implemented Operation BlueRide to get those home safely who feel as though they don't have an option aside from driving.

Chowder here…checking in on the application situation. I’ve been in my foster home over two weeks and I’m still looking for my forever family. I’m having a great time playing with my foster canine siblings. I get to go lots of places with my foster family and I love meeting new people of all ages and i love other dogs. Not all other dogs love me, as I’m enthusiastic and energetic. Apparently, not all dogs love that. So if you have another dog in the home, we would need to have a couple of meet and greets.

I’m sweet, and smart! Working hard on my commands and my house-training. I’m a champ in my crate, I love sleeping as I need to rest up for my tug of war games and running around after my foster sister. She runs really fast and I try so hard to keep up with her. I love toys, blankies and ice cubes!( they feel good on my puppy gums and quench my thirst.

Chowder is about 11/12 weeks old and neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and UTD on preventatives. He’s said to be a lab mix so he will be at least 50 lbs. We need an adopter who is willing to continue with training to make sure Chowder will be the best boy ever!

Being retired for nearly 6 months from "TRT," I sit here on my back patio thinking about my 50 years of owning Trenton Road Take Out and what I feel were highlights of my time there.
