Walk to End Epilepsy- 2024
☀️👟💜 What a beautiful ColoRADo morning for the Walk to End Epilepsy!! 💜👟☀️
Walking the 3.1 miles surrounded by epilepsy heroes, their families, caretakers & supporters was incredibly moving. This event is truly a *celebration* of #EpilepsyWarriors! 🎉🙌🏼
A gajillion thanks to my friends, family & coworkers who joined Team #WearPurpleForAbby, and a bazillion more thanks to all who donated to support the Epilepsy Foundation of Colorado & Wyoming! 💜💜💜
This is a clip of a video that's been making rounds on social media -- have you seen it? It shows Denver officers arresting a hot dog vendor outside of Ball Arena after a Nuggets game last week. Many people have questioned why the vendor was taken into custody, saying there are bigger crimes worth investigating... sharing all kinds of hot takes on the hot dog debacle.
Despite what's heard in this clip (**language warning**), DPD confirmed this was not an undercover sting operation, rather a joint effort with other city agencies cracking down on unlicensed food vendors who are in violation of health & safety rules. Tonight on CBS Colorado at 10, Jasmine Arenas explains why you may want to rethink buying one of those "fresh franks" to begin with, and what some other vendors are saying about the crackdown.
Your favorite weekend peeps (old & new) wishing you a very Hoppy Easter! 🐰🐣🌷

Out of Office
I’m getting some much-needed R&R… see y’all next Sunday! ✌🏼
Walking with Justin
A WALK TO REMEMBER :: Last summer, Sgt. Justin Dodge was pinned beneath a fire truck during the Denver Nuggets championship parade. He endured 8 surgeries, including one to amputate part of his left leg. Not even 8 months later, Justin is back on his feet — and is a walking, smiling & *thriving inspiration*!
I am beyond honored & grateful to have shared this walk with Justin today, learning about his incredible determination & the power of mindset. He also shared why he believes losing his leg actually gave him new purpose. It’s a story I’m excited to share on CBS Colorado this weekend. More details to come!
Spill the tea 🍵
When you lose your voice right before the late news… Thanks to my amazing team for helping me power through the show tonight! 🤦🏼♀️🍵Meteorologist Dave Aguilera & Eric Christensen, thanks for being on standby to fill in.😬😉
Abby update
To all who’ve asked about my sister following her brain surgery last month, Abby has a sweet message for you…especially those who answered the call to #WearPurpleForAbby 💜💜
Abby recorded this video earlier this week. While she was doing well then, today was an extremely difficult day as she suffered a grand mal seizure at school & was taken by ambulance to the ER. Thankfully, she’s now resting at home and is VERY much looking forward to having her RNS device (which was implanted during her surgery) turned on **tomorrow!** 🙌🏼 It is her and our entire family’s sincere hope that will finally prevent, or at least significantly reduce, her daily seizures. 🙏🏼
Tomorrow, I’ll be wearing purple again. Feel free to join me, and always know I’m beyond grateful for your love & support! 💜🫶🏻
When Meteorologist Dave Aguilera's "oops" turns into an opportunity to share an important message. 🤣
Happy June, y’all! 🔆 Here’s a little something to brighten up the gloomy start to the day — Mama Moose & her twins captured on Jeff Steck’s doorbell cam in Steamboat Springs! 😍😍😍
What if this were true?! 😜

A sad update from Westminster PD -- a cadaver dog detected human remains at the site of the overnight home explosion. No name released yet, but it confirms what neighbors feared. This doorbell video, courtesy of Blaine Leishman, shows the powerful blast that leveled the home across the street and damaged two others, along with several cars.
Coming up on CBS Denver at 5 & 6, what one neighbor believes caused the deadly explosion.
Container Homes: Is this the future of modern living? Would you consider living in something that looks like any other condo building but is actually full of shipping containers? Watch Karen Morfitt's report tonight on CBS Denver at 10.
