How is Windham Hill music part of your life? We are looking to document how Windham Hill music is part of people’s lives, especially at the moments that matter most. Will you share a moment where the music of Windham Hill is an important part of the ceremony?

We are looking to film upcoming and current milestones where WH music will set the tone of the event. Such events might include the birth of a child, playing music for elderly parents, someone in hospice care or another impactful milestone. The idea is to show in real time how the music has an impact on our lives as fans. Please DM if you have an event to share.

Liz has faced a lot of adversity in the past two decades — caring for her husband after a devastating car accident, and six years as the sole caregiver for her parents. She survived a near-lethal abdominal injury in 2012, and a brain hemorrhage in 2019. All resulted in a devastating impact on Liz's financial stability. She had no health insurance, and was unable to afford dental care. Liz needs major oral reconstructive surgery to address tooth loss, oral pain, bone and tissue loss, food restrictions, and a reluctance to fully smile.

Last November, Sony Music released Liz Story Songs of Christmas. The album cover is a photo of Liz in her forties. Shortly after its release, Liz said to us, “I want my smile back.”

Liz's dentist and oral surgeon have developed a comprehensive care plan to restore her oral health. It includes tooth extraction, bone graft and ridge restoration, and implant-supported dentures. The process will take eight months and is expected to cost $75,000, which Liz cannot afford.

The past three years have seen a renaissance in Liz’s career: three Sony Music releases honoring her career, digital publication of her entire catalog of sheet music, and her return to the stage for five full-length performances including New York's Carnegie Weill Hall. Being able to share her music on stage again has been one of her best dreams come true. With your help she can be pain-free, eat healthfully, and have a full and radiant smile that will last the rest of her life. After the music she has given us, and all that she has sacrificed for others, let's help Liz get her smile back.

A new documentary is now being made that tells the remarkable story of how the founder of Windham Hill (Will Ackerman) created a record label which started out as a gentle approach to music by concentrating on solo acoustic guitar instrumentals in response to the hard rock and disco music scene of the early 1980s.

We have entered the FINAL WEEK of our Kickstarter campaign for A QUIET REVOLUTION: The Story of Windham Hill Records.

In this last week of the Kickstarter campaign, please consider spreading the word to friends and family one final time, as well as to others you know who have a like-minded appreciation of Windham Hill Records, its amazing artists, the timeless music, its place in history, and how the music still makes us feel.

Here are the broad objectives for this film, as well as specific impact-based initiatives:

• We expect to submit the film to Film Festivals, with an eye toward a limited Theatrical Release, followed by a Digital Streaming Release, and then a national television broadcast.
Our goal is to present and share the film with the widest appropriate general audience.

• We also intend to secure Screenings at appropriate music venues and festivals, as well as schools - including K-12, colleges and universities. Where possible, one or more of our team will present these screenings and conduct a post-screening Q and A. Our goal here is to show the film in all the places where its music and messaging can do the most good.

Funds will still be needed for completion of the final edit, music and other archival licensing, and the important, aforementioned educational outreach.

Windham Hill Documentary Update
It's nice to see all the Windham Hill artists getting personally involved in helping the documentary campaign on Kickstarter with personal rewards.

William Ackerman added a "Will's Grab Bag" - of music, memorabilia, and mementos - some incredibly rare items here.

We've hit the minimum - I had a chance to ask the filmmaker Tal Skloot what his "true" target is, and he said he'd like to surpass $90K. It's already over 80% there, with a couple weeks to go, so let's bring that home.

“Eastern Montana”, the first in a series of posthumous releases from acclaimed solo pianist George Winston, was inspired by the surroundings of his childhood growing up in Miles City and Billings during the 1950s. Winston described Montana with its beautiful topography and wonderful people as “the greatest feeling of love and inspiration I have ever had.” Winston’s legacy as one of the foremost instrumental composers of our time perseveres with his latest studio album "Eastern Montana" sure to become a Winston classic.
