For most people, a journey consists of moving from point A to B; for those in the creative field, a journey consists of drawing inspiration from surroundings, emotions, ideas, and sculpting it into something that can be taken in by any or all of our senses - our ability to touch, see, listen, taste, smell and touch. We tell stories about an artist’s thought process when he or she creates something

unique, something that tests the boundaries of the existing culture and norms in the creative field. We want to use our platform to inspire others and follow suit on this creative voyage with us.

# # # Celebrating South Indian Cinema through Architecture 🎥✨

German photographers Stefanie Zoche & Sabine Haubitz capture the vibrant façades and unique architecture of South Indian movie theaters in their series “Hybrid Modernism.” From neon greens and pinks to bold reds and yellows, these images showcase a blend of modernism and local culture. Catch this stunning exhibit at Nusser & Baumgart in Munich, from Oct 9 to Nov 15, 2014.

From the 1950s to the 1970s, South India saw the construction of vibrant cinemas blending local and Western styles. These colorful façades and extravagant interiors set the stage for a unique cinematic experience. Between 2010 and 2014, we documented this “hybrid modernism,” capturing a rich cinematic culture now being replaced by multiplexes.
