Cursed Tales Pt.8:
There were the rebels who had not had the snails fitted, outlaws back when there was something to be an outlaw from. They tried making moves back, after being unsuccessful in removing snails and their scientists unable to develop any sort of cure, they decided the best thing to do, and the kindest would be to euthanize all the Snails, and allow the people to finally rest.
This did mean exterminating around 87% of the population, all that had snails, it would be a monumental task. But eventually it was agreed upon, and work began. Tasks force teams were sent out to deal with various locations one by one, devises were used that almost looked liked gas masks, they were attached to the mouth and nose of a snail and would release a chemical that made the snail unconscious first, before killing them.
It was quick, easy, and human, with a low possibly of mistakes being made. A single rebel could average 60 snails an hour, this task would take years to complete, but areas could now start being repopulated again, and life could continue after years of absence.
The Don
The story continues...
Cursed Tales Pt.2:
Initially, during its early days, the parents of a new born baby from specific trial locations, would get the option of implanting the snail inside their baby’s head, which is where it would remain for life.
As you might expect the idea of putting a small device inside a baby head did not appeal to most parents at first. But a few did take up the offer, and the results were...
The results were slow to say the least. With only a handful of participants the snails didn't have a big enough sample base to learn anything substantial from, the odd cold might have been cured quicker, but our body's immune systems are already incredibly efficient, much more so than anyone could have imagined.
This went on for a few years, with minor success, but on the whole the project slowed down to a halt. The snail wasn't offered to anyone new anymore, but the ones that were already implanted continued to be monitored, purely for the safety of the participant in case there was some form of malfunction, officially the project was still in beta stage.
But then happened, it took 13 years, but then something changed everything, he was the very first one.
