I love books, and I admire authors, but that's not why I've read more than 150 banned books over the past two years or why I think you should, too.
My why has to do with stories, and 's From Here is a perfect example. Luma's story made my world bigger. A gay Muslim woman who faced the threat of death in her home country as a result of her sexuality and the difficult process of applying for political asylum...it's astounding and illuminating.
Banned Books Box recently sent out signed copies of From Here and we're really looking forward to a virtual book discussion with Luma on Feb. 28. Interested in joining us?
