Max Burger AVON update.
Max Burger is targeting to OPEN February 1st, 2026!
Now that Max a Mia has officially relocated, renovations are set to begin in their old location.
We previously shared that the popular burger restaurant will open their 2nd CT location in the old Max a Mia, 70 East Main Street, Avon.

We got a sneak peek at the brand new Max a Mia—and trust us, you are going to love it!!!

They will be opening on Tuesday, September 2nd with a refreshed menu featuring exciting new dishes alongside your longtime favorites.

You will find the new spot in the former Bertucci’s location at Avon Marketplace.

💵 Dollar Tree bought the rights to Party City locations so there is a chance they will move into the old Party City space, but nothing is confirmed. Stay tuned!

🍔 Max Burger is coming to the old Max a Mia space. As we have been reporting, Max a Mia is holding their preview opening party today in the old Bertucci’s in Avon Marketplace. They open to the public Tuesday.

🍔 Bareburger is opening their newest location in Avon at 308 W. Main St., formally Burger Fi. Still working on an opening timeline for this!

🧁 Chan Bakery is hard at work on interior renovation and and will be OPENING SOON. We will let you know the date when we get it!

🚜 The now clear lot next to HomeGoods is on everyone’s mind. We are following this closely and will let you know what may be coming when we find out!

They’re putting on the final touches and just waiting on the last permit approvals.

We got a sneak peek inside—and trust us—it’s going to be worth the wait.

New England Puppy Rescue is opening in CANTON.
They will be located at 166 Albany Turnpike, the former Canton Dogology space.
New England Puppy Rescue is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that is dedicated to rescuing neglected, unwanted puppies, that are abandoned, in high-kill shelters, or owner-surrendered, giving them the veterinary care they need and deserve, and placing them in loving, forever homes.
Check them out to donate, volunteer or become a foster home!

Toy Chest is reopening in WEST HARTFORD under new ownership.
They will be located in a smaller space than the original at 967 Farmington Ave., the former Ten Thousand Villages space.
Toy Chest closed over 2 years ago after being a constant in West Hartford for over 65 years!

They will be located at Riverdale Farms, Bldg. 9, 152 Simsbury Road, Avon, CT.
Jon and Nann, originators and past owners of Take Tea, a British style tearoom, are sharing their love of tea, as well as Celtic, Irish & British (& Scottish)
things again.
While they won't be serving tea, they will be selling Tea things & things Tea. Vintage bone china cups & saucers, Irish and British previously loved "jumble sale" items, tea towels, Connecticut made teapot trivets and slate coasters featuring Celtic patterns, teapots and tea strainers, "bibs and bobs".
Stop in and support this mother and son business venture!

Liquor Ox in the Avon Village Center is NOW CLOSED.

We are working to find out what happened and if they are moving to a new location.

This was their second location...their other shop is in Enfield which is still open.

We will update you once we get more information.

Outrider Dogs is expanding.

The owners of the dog rescue are closing on a house next to their own home for mama dogs and their babies.

It’s called The Den and will help the Outrider team provide more and better care for their female dogs and puppies!

They will also use the space for community meetups and events.

They are currently asking for donations to help with costs. See the link below.
