I never thought that at this point in my career I would become a spokesperson for my generation, or have my own foundation, or bring out an inequality report about my industry. But life really is full of surprises! Today The Jaguar Foundation is born, as I am so proud to bring you our debut report ‘Progressing gender er Representation in UK Dance Music’ with our friends from the Sony Music UK Social Justice Fund.

Why? Because, as you will discover, it is needed. We need this now, more than ever, to better understand the cavernous challenges that women and non-binary artists face every single day and to find positive solutions TOGETHER, so that we can collectively make the dance music industry a safer and more inclusive place, which is how it should be. We owe it to ourselves and we owe it to future generations to come.

I find it mad to say this but, BBC Music Introducing on Radio 1 Dance has been alive and kicking for TWO YEARS now! 🤯 We launched this show on Radio 1 back in April 2020 at the start of lockdown. I’ve listened to thousands of tracks and premiered so many sick tunes on the radio, and 2 years later, we’re finally in the studio with my first in-person interview and guest 🌞

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be celebrating by revealing the 4 Graduates of Introducing Dance, Class of 2021/22🎓 These are 4 artists we’ve been supporting for a long time, that are about to launch into the next phase of their careers🥲

First up: Barry Can’t Swim - he’s fresh off the boat party, and will be going B2B with me on the show tonight to celebrate.
