๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ | ISU-CC's IAT Faculty Achieve Eggplant Yield Breakthrough
Princess Joy B. Ticman and Camilyn A. Ligmayo, faculty members from Isabela State University Cauayanโs Institute of Agricultural Technology (ISU-CC IAT), have gained international acclaim following the publication of their doctoral research on enhancing eggplant growth and yield in the International Journal of Open-access, Interdisciplinary and New Educational Discoveries (iJOINED ETCOR).
Princess Joy B. Ticman, together with co-authors Lucila V. Rocha, Artemio A. Martin Jr., Victoriano V. Casco, and Raphy A. Sugue, published the study titled โApplication of Vermichar, Trichoderma, and Biostimulants on Eggplant (Solanum melongena L.).โ
Their collaborative research demonstrated an impressive 14% increase in eggplant yield by integrating vermichar, Trichoderma, and other biostimulants with conventional fertilizers.
This breakthrough highlights eco-friendly strategies that help farmers improve productivity, enhance soil health, and reduce dependence on synthetic inputs.
Meanwhile, Camilyn A. Ligmayo, along with co-author Dr. Lucila V. Rocha, published the study โEnhancing Eggplant Yield Through Fertilizer Application Supplemented with Micronutrients and Plant Growth Regulator.โ
Their research revealed a remarkable 59.23% increase in marketable eggplant yield through the strategic use of micronutrients and plant growth regulators including zinc sulfate, borax, ferrous sulfate, black soldier fly frass, and gibberellic acid, combined with recommended NPK fertilizers.
Both pioneering studies appeared in Volume IV, Issue 2 (AprilโJune 2025) of the journal and earned the teams led by Ticman and Ligmayo the distinction of Most Outstanding Published Authors at the International Awards Night held in Panglao, Bohol, on May 31, 2025.
