These two are reminders of the daily dull rituals I cherish.. It's 2:15pm qld Australia, and this lorikeet couple visit me the same time everyday for their apple, a drink, and sometimes a bath. They remind me that dull can be a beautiful thing ✨♥️

I am indeed an appropriate person to allow into the Dull Woman’s Club! I have a long history of being quite Dull beginning back in the 50’s & 60’s. When Elvis was popular I was not interested in him. I did like the Beatles when they were on Ed Sullivan & after but I never collected Beatles stuff or remember buying a record or squealed with excitement when I saw them on TV. In school I was very good in Biology & English classes. Okay in math but not so good in college calculus classes. After college I taught Biology for about a year in public schools but cried a lot at home during that time & quit in mid-year due to stress. I could not handle being a disclinarian. Then I became an antiques dealer which I have been since 1976. I still enjoy buying & selling antiques. I am now 77 years old. I am almost an antique! 77% of the way there! The most dull part of it is photographing & writing up descriptions for online selling. It is also very dull when sales are slow which happens a bit too often. I love cats but husband is allergic. So have been feeding & providing shelter outside to a small group of semi-feral cats who are all fixed in a TNR program (trap, neuter, return). So they pretty much have duller lives than they would have had as totally wild ferals. They are Queen Bean (the mom cat) & her grown children Beanie Girl & Beanie Bro. Here is a photo of Beanie Girl, Queen Bean & a banana, the last of the most recent bunch. I eat bananas often as they are high in potassium which I try to get plenty of as getting lots of potassium helps to keep my blood pressure low. I am new to the group. This is my intro post! Hi!

Hi all of you beautiful, dull women! This is my rescue pup, Luna. The first year of her life was terrible so it makes my heart happy to see her so content and relaxed ❤️. I've had dogs before, but she and I share a bond that I never expected. She's the perfect dull woman companion.

It's been a lovely week of sun in the far north of Scotland this week, but too warm for me to sit out in it, so I made a rug indoors out of 3 balls of yarn that I finger knitted first before weaving..it turned out better than I thought it would, which made up for me having to sit inside in our sunny weather.

Happy to be in this group 😊 I'm 59 yo, living in Sweden. Today I had some delicious pastry. There was no banana in the pastry. One of the dogs ate all bananas. I might give him to the trolls.
Shoe size 8 (me, not the trolls, I think their feet are bigger).

Anyone else love looking at maps? When Google Earth came out years ago I would spend hours exploring. I recently discovered it's an app now! Occasionally something will spark my interest and I will end up on Google Earth for an hour or two. A recent YouTube search about the history of Persia end up with a multi-day study of the towns and topography in Iran and eventually lead me northeast to this lake. It's massive! I posted on my page but my friends and family are not as dull as I am. Hoping you will appreciate my fascination with this lake as much as I do! 🤓

For tonight's Google Earth Deep Dive (GEDD) I present to you: Issyk-Kul Lake
FUN FACTS
🔹️Surface elevation: 5,272 ft
🔹️Surrounding mountain ranges reach 20,000+ ft
🔹️Avg Depth: nearly 1000 ft
🔹️Max Depth: 2192 ft (7th deepest in the world)
🔹️10th largest lake in the world by volume
🔹️The lake itself is 111 miles long and 37 miles at its widest, or ~2400 mi², larger than Delaware
🔹️It is a saline lake due to having no outlet (endorheic)
🔹️Rarely freezes due to high salt content and geothermal activity. Issyk-kul means warm lake.
🔹️Despite being over a mile in elevation and in a cold climate, it's water temperature is in the low 70s in the summer.
🔹️Represents 3% of Kyrgyzstan's total area

I’m dull, but my home is not.

We bought Marguerite a month ago, but her bones are much, much older than that. She’s almost twenty over a century. She’s had many owners, and, as such, is the keeper of secrets. She’s had lots of “phases” in her lifetime, and more looks than we care to remember. “We” as in Marguerite and I. We don’t like to speak often of her most recent phase, which is when she was white washed. A major disrespect to her character and charm. Before that, someone dreadfully installed carpet over her gorgeous hardwood, this is particularly bothersome to our husband, who has been ripping it up and meticulously removing staples by hand. She’s currently embarrassed about the state of her bum (the basement) but I have assured her we will get to it, in due time. Together, we have chosen vibrant colors for the main living space. Colors I was previously suspicious of in a home, but nothing less than vibrant will do, to dress Marguerite. We’re in discussions about the dining area, specifically deliberating wallpaper, and arguing over dining tables. I hope one day we will be best of friends, and she’ll tell me where her secrets are kept.

Good evening you dullicious humans!

Two nights ago, for apparently no reason other than to psychologically torment myself, I decided to try to write a list of all the US states from memory. That night - as surprisingly to me as anyone else, I got to 47. Yesterday I was at a wedding for the entire day so I went back to antagonising myself needlessly today. FINALLY remembered Wyoming, Iowa and Vermont, and I believe you can tell from my increasingly frenzied handwriting how excited I was about it. Please excuse the curry I spilt on the bottom of the list. I remembered Vermont in the middle of my dinner and had to write it down immediately before I forgot 😂

To be clear, I am a Brit, and I have been to the US, but to New York and Disneyworld Florida, so it’s not like I was exploring the lost treasures of the forgotten corners of the country 😂 Pretty much all of my geographical knowledge of the states comes from TV shows.

I found a Four leaf clover today. It’s. Very dull activity to look for one.

Finding a four-leaved clover is a fascinating craft which has often been associated with luck, hope and love. Legend has it that the four leaves represent faith, hope, love, and luck, which is why finding one is believed to bring good fortune to the beholder.

It's a rare variation of the common three-leaf clover, and because your chances of finding one with four leaves is about 1 in 10,000, they're considered lucky.

Size 8 shoe and I ate my banana this morning.

I wish I had the confidence of a bay leaf, just strolling into every recipe doing absolutely nothing.
I make spaghetti sauce weekly. Always add two bay leaves only because that’s what my mom did.

Talk about dull! I resell plants every spring, and that means 12 hour work days almost every day for me unless it rains. I rarely even go to a store during this season, it’s like a daily yard sale, I have to be here all the time. I have tens of thousands of plants, and caring for them is a full time job believe it or not. I take great pride in their health and appearance, and my customers tell me about it constantly. Everything else is neglected; my house plants, the laundry, mopping, etc. I can’t even find time to paint my toenails. But the season is nearly coming to an end now, and I very much look forward to getting back to my normal dull life. I miss sewing, I miss shopping, I miss relaxing. Right now, every time I put my feet up, I just conk out. Last week a wind storm took my greenhouse’s and threw them across the yard; I nearly ended the season then. But I put my big girl panties on and got everything back in order. It took 5 days of constant effort. It’s the end of my day now, so I’m going to get a bath, put my feet up, and dream of a time where I’m not so daggum tired all the time.

I’m in the beginning of a major re-do of my 2 sewing rooms. They just aren’t working for me as is. Tonight’s dull activity was consolidating all my buttons into just a few vessels. I was happy to find a banana button in the 1000’s I sorted through. It, and all the others in the tart pan will go on the collar of an embellished art jacket I’m working on bit by bit. I may just have to switch the entire button bonanza into a punch bowl or something. 🍌

*most of the buttons I pick up here and there when thrift shopping, pretty cheap thrill. I have quite a few more I just found while traveling in Oregon. I haven’t unpacked those yet.

As further evidence of my dullness, I took this picture at my local fishing pool, while I was wandering slowly round it.
Basically, I couldn’t believe my eyes.
The guys over at the Cloud Appreciation Society quite liked it though.
It’s best if you look at it on full screen 😳😎😳

I feel my dullness is probably hereditary. My paternal grandparents had a wonderful influence on my life. They were the epitome of dull. They were sensible, thrifty, simple minded but educated. They loved tending home and hearth, but also loved to travel everywhere. They traveled not for thrills but for the experience and education the traveling provided. I inherited a shoebox of vintage stamps that my grandma saved from the US and all over the world. My local garden club of which I’m a member, are providing flower arrangements to our town buildings for national garden week. I took the post office. I mod podged some of those vintage stamps on a vase to create my arrangement. Here it is on display at our local PO. If you look closely you will see stamps from the Netherlands, Australia, Canada, and Great Britain and more!

Its dull but I get a lot of laughs myself about naming my dear sheep.
This is Abraham Lambkin and HER daughter Adolph Sheepler.
If I have another daughter next year the name planned is Hirosheepo.
These are sheep I am registering so there will absolutely be government paper work showing the material line under these names.
I may be dull but at least I think Im funny....

On this dull, rainy day I have been busy making different dolls to see which face I like. Please help me to decide and/or feel free to offer advice.
This is a quiet book doll house I am making for two nieces.
The first doll’s eyes were embroidered. The second doll has doll eyes and the third doll has sewn in seed beads.
Vote 1: blue overalls
2:Orange with polka dots
3:flower dress
