For the 2nd day of National Dog week ask Mom if you can make your dog a special treat to share with your dog: MIx well 1 cup peanut butter & 1 cup oatmeal. Roll into small balls. Freeze on a cookie sheet about 2-3 hours. Take out and share 2 or 4 with your pet! Save some for tomorrow. Dont forget to clean up!

Lots of Dolphins playing in the Ocean over near Dana Point.

This beautiful arc of leaping dolphins isn’t a time lapse capture of the same dolphin- it’s three different dolphins mid leap. Although dolphins tend to travel in pods, they’re able to swim together cohesively and not crash into each other by constantly communicating. Oftentimes, while they’re bow riding, you can hear their clicks and whistles to each other even from above the water on the boat. We’ve probably heard “on your left” in dolphin hundreds of times and never known!

Its the official week to spoil your dogs! (As if we dont do that every day!) Today we picked up a new toy that we can play with all 3 of our dogs - one of those wands that holds a tennis ball and makes it easy to throw it real far! They all love retrieving tennis balls!

As the family of a blind mini schnauzer* we can say its true that blind dogs can live a fairly normal life when we take precautions and good care of them. Ours had PRA** Our daughter rescued him from a Vet who refused to euthanize him when his 1st family, with 3 small children, couldnt adapt to his inherited loss of sight. We already had a dog & cat but the 2 dogs adjusted well. Although, he learned quickly not to get too close to the cat or she would swat him! Dont be afraid to adopt a blind dog! They need out love too!

There are MANY different dates that claim its world, national or Int’l Pet Memorial day - but it never hurts to stop a minute and remember our lives were better for all our pets and we still miss them! Play on dear friends!
