This is a photo of me on a rooftop in East Harlem back in the early 1990s when I was working with students at Educational Video Center on a film called Home Sweet Gone. I would not take students onto a rooftop to film today (!!), but I do encourage you to support the 40th Anniversary of EVC with a donation!

La dirección del Festival internacional de Documentales Santiago Álvarez in Memoriam ha seleccionado de manera extraordinaria una obra documental para ser parte de la competición de la XXI edición, por sus aportes a la composición temática del evento:
“Hijxs de la Revolución” del documentalista argentino Rodrigo Vazquez .

Este documental narra la historia de tres guerrilleros de las FARC en Colombia que firman un acuerdo de paz con el gobierno nacional en el 2016 y sueñan con participar en política como civiles. Pero cinco años más tarde, el incumplimiento del acuerdo por parte del Estado y la amenaza de los grupos paramilitares contra ellos, torna casi imposible que logren reinsertarse en la sociedad con éxito.

Helping to shut down the Manhattan Bridge to call for PERMANENT Ceasefire with and others. Leaflets were passed out to drivers in cars that were stuck explaining why were taking this action that might inconvenience them- to stop a genocide supported by their tax dollars.
