Angela Kim, WJFW 12

Angela joined the Newswatch 12 News Team in August 2018. She started out in Syracuse, New York, then moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, before officially calling the Northwoods her new home. Before all that, she was born in South Korea and flew into New York City when she was only three months old.

Angela graduated cm laude from Ithaca College with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a minor in sociology. While studying at IC, she worked as a multimedia journalist for the nation’s oldest television station, ICTV Channel 16 in Tompkins County. She reported, produced, and anchored at ICTV, and even eventually founded the station’s morning news show. She also worked as a weekly newscaster for WICB-FM (91.7 FM) and VIC Radio. But her biggest accomplishment was producing an award-winning documentary.

Angela didn’t just fill her school years with journalism. During summer breaks, she also interned at ABC7 in San Francisco, WKNO in Memphis, and the Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Outside of work, Angela enjoys running, cooking, and hiking. She used to ski, fish, and figure skate all the time, so she’s excited to start again now that she lives in the Badger state!
