Officials from Star Ghana call on Speaker Bagbin to congratulate him on his election as Speaker of the Ninth Parliament.
The group which was led by the Chairperson Hamdiya Ismaila stated that, they were very much pleased with the re-election of the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin and added that it was a testament of his good leadership qualities.
In response, the Speaker expressed joy and delight while recognizing the support Star-Ghana Foundation has been providing and assisting Parliament for over a decade now. “The foundation provides not only resources but technical know-how. This has helped the parliament of Ghana gain global recognition” he stated.
The Speaker also recounted the role of Star-Ghana Foundation in drafting the 2019-2024 Parliamentary Service Strategic Plan and its implementation. ‘’We are now developing 2025-2029 strategic plan, we want to draw on your immense experience and expertise in this regard” he added.
He was of the view that the new Standing Orders has created a number of committees to make the work of Parliament more effective and efficient. There are new committees such as Economy and Development, ethics and standards, human rights, budget, security and intelligence, youth, disability and gender, just to mention but a few.
The Acting Clerk to Parliament Mr. Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror, expressed gratitude to the Foundation for always being supportive to the work of Parliament .

Team ORAL has inspected the North Labone State Capture location where a property belonging to the Lomotey/Adotey family was illegally demolished in 2024.

A representative of the family narrated the traumatizing experience, how they lost their home and valuables therein, and their frustrations in finding justice.

Even though the Lands Commission has claimed in a letter that they made a mistake in allocating the land to the politically exposed cabal which carried out the demolition, the Lomotey/Adotey family has not been compensated and they continue to spend thousands of Cedis on their own security arrangement to protect the property.

Team ORAL assured the Lomotey/Adotey family that their plight will find expression in our comprehensive report to be presented to His Excellency President Mahama.

Never again should Ghana experience despicable State Capture.

President John Dramani Mahama meets independent power producers (IPPs) as he reaffirms his commitment to supporting their contribution to boosting our country’s electricity supply. "We must recognise the vital role that IPPs play in complementing our government's efforts to harness the capital needed for energy generation."
He expressed that "Just as I did during my engagements with the sector in the run-up to the election, I reiterated the pressing challenges faced by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG). With a staggering 40% in commercial and technical losses, it’s clear that we need a transformative approach to reform the energy sector. We must operate more transparently and competitively, and together, we can find efficient partners to optimise our billing and metering processes."

"I acknowledge the debts accumulated within our energy sector, which is a challenge we must face together. While my previous administration introduced the Energy Sector Levy Act (ESLA) to clear these debts, the mismanagement of funds has hindered that effort. We must refocus and ensure that revenues are directed appropriately to foster growth."

"Ghana is open for business again, and I invite local and international investors to join us in revitalising our energy sector."
