Ghana Pastors Union Hosts Successful Peace Programme Ahead of 2024 Elections

Accra, Ghana - In a significant step towards promoting peace and national unity, the Ghana Pastors Union recently organized a National Intercessory Prayer and Peace Dialogue at the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Central Odorkor Official Town Branch. This well-attended event brought together hundreds of believers, representatives from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP), and various organizations.

Key attendees included Hon. Moses Soga, Deputy Constituency Chairman of the NDC's Ablekumah North branch, and Hon. Nana Akua Owusu Afriyieh, Parliamentary Candidate for the NPP's Ablekuma North constituency. Other notable representatives were from:

- The National Peace Council
- The Ghana Police Service, represented by Chief Inspector Samuel Kojo Kaledzi
- The Peace Tower of Africa, led by President Hon. Tawiah Hemens

The programme featured speeches and goodwill messages emphasizing peace and security's crucial role in ensuring national development and prosperity. Speakers stressed maintaining peace before, during, and after the December 2024 elections. Stakeholders pledged to work together for a violence-free electoral process.

Rev. Prosper Zery, President of the Ghana Pastors Union, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support. "We will continue to pray and work towards peace, unity, and national development."

In a special message, Rev. Solomon Berko, Director of Operations, Ghana Pastors Union, emphasized:

"As we approach the 2024 elections, I urge all Ghanaians to embrace peace, unity, and love. Let us put aside our differences and come together as one people, under one God.

We must recognize that our diversity is our strength, and our collective prosperity depends on our ability to coexist harmoniously.

Ghana to Boost Customer Service with National Taskforce.

A renowned international customer service advocate, Mr. Hector Wulff, has proposed the formation of a National Customer Service Development Taskforce to enhance customer experience and drive economic growth in Ghana.

As Executive Director of the Organisation for Customer Service Excellence-Ghana , Mr. Wulff unveiled the initiative at a press conference in Accra, to commemorate the 2024 International Customer Service Week, emphasizing the need for a collaborative effort to improve customer service across various sectors.

"The National Customer Service Development Taskforce will bring together stakeholders from government, private sector, and civil society to develop a comprehensive national customer service strategy," Mr. Wulff explained.

The taskforce aims to:
1. Develop customer service standards and guidelines
2. Provide training and capacity building for service providers
3. Promote customer feedback and complaint resolution mechanisms
4. Recognize and reward excellent customer service

Key stakeholders, including government ministries, private sector associations, and civil society organizations, have expressed support for the initiative.

"This taskforce will position Ghana as a leader in customer service excellence, driving economic growth and enhancing customer experience," said Mr. Wulff.

The proposed taskforce structure includes:

1. Steering Committee (Ministries, private sector, civil society)
2. Technical Working Group (customer service experts, trainers)
3. Secretariat (day-to-day operations)

Igbo Community in Ghana Celebrate 2024 New Yam Festival in Grand Style

The Igbo community in Ghana recently hosted the 2024 New Yam Festival, an annual event that showcases the rich cultural heritage of the Igbo people.
This year's celebration was particularly significant, marking the 12th consecutive year of the festival's organization.
Hosted by HRM Eze Dr. Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu, Eze Ndi Igbo in Ghana,
the festival was attended by a distinguished delegation from Imo State, led by Executive Governor Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodinma
- Delegation included Rt. Hon. Kanayo Onyemaechi, Rt. Hon. Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu, and Rt. Hon. Chigozie Nwaneri
- Warmly received by Eze Ihenetu, a prominent figure in Ghana and native of Nwangele LGA, Imo State.
The event featured various traditional music, dance, and cuisine.

Ghanaian Man Dies Fighting for Russia in Ukraine War

A 42-year-old Ghanaian man, Isaac Aboagye Mensah, has been reported dead in Ukraine, where he was fighting alongside Russian forces. According to sources, Mensah, a former banker from Adanwomase in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, died of shock in Ukraine.

Mensah had reportedly quit his job to join the Russian army, but the circumstances surrounding his decision and his death are not yet clear.

His death has sparked concerns among Ghanaians, with many taking to social media to express their condolences and question why a Ghanaian citizen would be involved in the conflict.

The Ghanaian government is yet to comment on Mensah's death or the issue of Ghanian youths.
The question remains whether the Ghanian government and entire citizenry are aware of it's youth actively participating in the war?
