Our Story

Two friends share a mission to create narrative stories that approach conflicts from all sides. Their contrasting styles enhance their creativity and invite people to connect with their perspective.

The collective is founded by Josh Zapata-Palmer and Josh Cisewski. We are filmmakers, storymakers, and artists ourselves; and we came together because we were missing something from our industry, so we decided to create it ourselves.

Thus, Drawbridge Collective was born.

Drawbridge Collective is a network with the goal of encouraging connection and creating space for artists to support the filmmaking community in the Twin Cities. It is a network of artists that support the community and pursue excellence together while making stories come to life. We do this by hosting a platform where artists can learn and grow and actively be involved in film and the filmmaking community.

JOSHUA (ZP) PALMER @JOSHIEPALMS

ZP is a creator of enthusiastic, collaborative, and playful art for independent films and local theatre. He has performed with the National Theatre for Children, Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre, Valleyfair, the MN Renaissance Festival, Arts Garden, and more, including his own performance partnership, Juggler & Mime. After learning to create videos in high school and college, he obtained a career as Creative Design Director at ACR Homes and has been acting/directing in many films, including the award-winning comedy The Paper Jam (2013). He loves running into walls, playing the ukulele, and dancing in his car at stop lights.

JOSHUA (ZEUSKI) CISEWSKI @ORANGELIGHTNING17

Zeuski is a passionate supporter of honest, creative, and local art. With a love for all aspects of film and theatre, he has experience in writing, acting, directing, cinematography, video editing, photography, live sound mixing, theatrical lighting design, and music composition. His film Bear (2018) premiered at the Twin Cities Film Fest, and went on to win Best Short Film - Grand Jury Prize at a festival in Iowa. His film for Son of Man (2016) appeared at 11 festivals across the US, winning 3 awards. He loves sleeping in, introverting, and formulating his movie ratings list.
