Hist-eerie

Hist-eerie A podcast series (and soon, a BOOK!) of history's eeriest, true ghost stories, told by "America's Ghost Storyteller," Diane Ladley. Brad F. Eric TJ A. Monika K.

It's history...with the lights out! "I am so happy to have discovered your podcast Diane. Your tellings are fresh and your production values are fantastic. I am telling everyone who will listen, about just how great your podcasts are. In a field of many, your voice talent and presentations stand out. I cannot wait for more of your work." of Florence, Italy

"What Orson Wells was to the radio, Dian

e Ladley is to your Podcast." "Ladley can plunge an imaginary knife into the body of another person with convincing skill. Her voice would be the envy of an old-time radio sound effects man. One easily can imagine a door opening, or the wind blowing through the window." Mark Foster, Reporter, Kane County Chronicle

Diane Ladley is a nationally award-winning storyteller, ghost tour company founder and author, named by other storytellers as "America's Ghost Storyteller." Her coast-to-coast reputation for masterfully told, spine-tingling tales is hailed by critics, peers and ghost story enthusiasts alike. She was a State of Illinois ArtsTour Artist for 2001/03 and again in 2003/05. Diane's adaptation of a classic folktale, "The Liver," from her Late Night Fright: Tales of Supernatural Terror and Macabre Mirth audio CD won a national Storytelling World Honor Award. She authored two haunted history books, "Naperville's Haunted Memories" and "Haunted Aurora" with Arcadia Publishing. Diagnosed with debilitating fibromyalgia in 2004, she lost her job, and could no longer travel the country telling her ghost stories. With no husband, kids or family to support her, Diane creatively turned her physical therapy walks into the Haunted Hometowns ghost tours and cemetery ghost hunts in Naperville, Aurora and Elgin, Illinois. "I loved how your ghost stories aren't meant to disgust or really scare a person—they are more of a history lesson with a human touch, and they have impacted me in a way I didn't think was possible." But then Diane discovered PODCASTING! What a terrific way to combine her lifelong passion for haunted world history, her extensive writing and storytelling skills, AND her old college radio deejay experience. Diane's next endeavor is turning Hist-eerie into a book. She's shopping around for agents & a publisher, so stay tuned, ghost story lovers. You can be happy to know that your continued interest will help a disabled person who refuses to give in to fear.

Diane Ladley...Refusing to Give In to Fear

"Ladley can plunge an imaginary knife into the body of another person with convincing skill. Her voice would be the envy of an old-time radio sound effects man. One easily can imagine a door opening, or the wind blowing through the window." Mark Foster, Reporter, Kane County Chronicle Diane Ladley is a nationally award-winning storyteller, ghost tour company founder, and author, named by other storytellers as "America's Ghost Storyteller." Her coast-to-coast reputation for masterfully told, spine-tingling tales is hailed by critics, peers and ghost story enthusiasts alike. "[Diane], your voice and delivery is superb! Have you ever considered signing on with an agency to represent you as a voice talent?" D. Ross, Indianapolis, IN Diagnosed with debilitating fibromyalgia in 2004, she lost her job, and could no longer travel the country telling her ghost stories. With no husband, kids or family to support her, Diane creatively turned her physical therapy walks into the Haunted Hometowns ghost tours and cemetery ghost hunts in Naperville, Aurora and Elgin, Illinois.

"You are such a great storyteller. I loved how your ghost stories...are more of a history lesson with a human touch, and they have impacted me in a way I didn't think was possible. I really am touched to the core by the stories, by your charisma, and I also am inspired." Monika K. But Diane's health is worsening. It was getting harder to walk the tour routes, and longer to recover after each one. Finally, in January 1, 2018, Diane had to close her Haunted Hometowns tours, and entrusted her legacy of historical local haunted research to her top ghost host and a respected ghost tour operator in Chicago. With no income but Social Security Disability and only a small royalty from her stories, Diane’s financial situation is bleak, and scarier than any horror story.

But then Diane discovered PODCASTING! What a terrific way to combine her lifelong passion for haunted world history, her extensive writing and storytelling skills, AND her old college radio deejay experience...and hopefully earn a bit of steady income without nearly killing herself from the exertion of live performing.

So that's how Hist-eerie was born. Not just a labor of love...but a creative act of necessity. You can help Diane by becoming her special patron on PATREON.COM, the crowdfunding source for creatives! Will you help? You'll get some sweet perks too!
