Not stopping at regime change in Venezuela, Trump announces U.S. will ‘run the country' after Washington-orchestrated coup "until a proper transition of power could be arranged," The New York Times reports, "raising the the prospect of an open-ended commitment."

President Trump announced that U.S. forces had carried out “a large scale strike against Venezuela” and were taking President Nicolás Maduro and his wife to New York. The Trump administration had been building pressure on Mr. Maduro for months.
