Spectrum SURF Channel kicks off the new year with a live broadcast of the 2018 Da Hui Backdoor Shootout from Pipeline 1/4 - 1/16. The models are showing abundant WNW swell activity of varying sizes for the first half of the holding period with breezy E trades blowing stiff and offshore at Pipe. The event includes shortboard, longboard, SUP surf, and bodysurfing divisions.

2017 Maui Women's Pro
The Spectrum SURF Channel team literally splits in two beginning this Saturday as we juggle two great live broadcasts during the same 11/25 - 12/6 holding periods: the 2017 Women's Maui Pro from Honolua Bay and the 2017 Vans World Cup from Sunset Beach.
As the year ending Championship Tour event, the Maui Women's Pro takes live broadcast priority over the Vans World Cup, but we'll do our best to alternate coverage as dictated by this order. No worries, we'll replay both full events after the Pipe Masters finishes so you won't miss a single wave!

With the conclusion of the 2017 HIC Pro today, the Spectrum SURF Channel team's attention turns quickly to preparations for the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing main event series, and what will be a highly dramatic Men's CT world title clash at Pipeline next month! At this point,early models forecast mostly modest head-high surf and a miserable spate of gusty onshore winds for southern Tahiti all this week. Hopefully, new energy and offshore winds arrive in time for the event start!

SURF FANS: Spectrum SURF Channel trips over to Surf City USA next week for our live coverage of the 2017 Vans US Open of Surfing from Huntington Beach, California 7/31 - 8/6 @ 4:30am HST daily. It'll be radical wall-to-wall surf action as our broadcast will include the Women's CT, Men's QS, and Pro Junior events at one of pro surfing's most vibrant venues and beach spectators!
The SoCal forecast is calling for solid SSE swell and light local winds to kick off the event next Monday 7/31.

7/3 UPDATE: The large swell in the SE Pacific for around July 9/10, has apparently been downgraded and there are no plans at this point to run the 2017 Puerto Escondido Challenge at the infamous Mexican big wave beachbreak. We'll keep you guys posted if there are any updates in that direction. Just to keep the blood pumping, here's a preview of Spectrum SURF Channel's coming Big Wave Tour coverage for this year.
