Kenya walks on transformative agenda of the economy. As many will know or argue on how to bring the cost of living down, the focus will mainly shift towards pump fuel prices. How do we bring the pump price down? This will remain a question with a lot desired answers and which many government officials tasked with it will not respond. We import all petroleum related products from the gulf and worse is that we import finished products. How lazy can a country be to a point where they cant import crude oil and process it in their own refinery??. Am sure by now the question is, can we even process this things locally? and the answer is Yes, Do we have a facility that can process this? and the answer is Kenya petroleum refineries. We might argue its expensive to process the crude oil locally, however am convinced by products begotten out of the refinery process ease up the burden. Its up to the government to operationalize the Changamwe based Kenya Petroleum Refineries. Once the machine are repaired and some replaced with new technology, it will enable processing the crude oil which as a country we can buy it cheaper through concessions with other countries as compared to purchasing the already finished products. This will further help our industries cut costs on importing raw materials in turn make petroleum related products cheaper. In the journey of self reliance its good to be a manufacturer other a packaging facility or a storage zone or further an alternative dumping site. To ease up the cost of living its important we start processing/ refining our own oil and throw it into the pump systems and the solution is KENYA PETROLEUM REFINERIES-CHANGAMWE
