Douglas Michael Pasko is an American Internet innovator turned Film and Television Producer. His latest production is the network television show called The Outpost; a fantasy medieval television series airing on The CW in the United States and on the various SyFy International networks. With nearly all his productions based in the science fiction and fantasy genres, it is safe to describe him as a Genre Producer at the moment.
His technology career can be traced back to the early days of the Internet, to the first commercial Internet Service Provider (ISP) in upstate NY known as PSINet (1995). As with many leading tech professionals, he spent time innovating at various internet carriers including ConXion, NaviSite, internetMCI, Broadwing, Cable & Wireless and Verizon. While at InternetMCI, he worked along side RealNetworks to bring forward the first large scale video streaming platform on the Internet, known as the Real Broadcast Network (RBN). A number of his other contributions to the Internet as a whole can be found most visible in his wide portfolio of patents awarded by the US Patent Office.
Although Doug garnered a taste for film while constructing large platforms to deliver it online, it wasn’t until 2014 that he made the jump into the film industry. His first credited feature being on the film Survivor (2014) starring Kevin Sorbo. From there he helped produce a trilogy of fantasy medieval films called Mythica that later spawned into a five film franchise as Doug turned to Executive Producing the last two films in that series. At this point in his career, he became almost exclusively an Executive Producer in film and television. Now Executive Producing for network television, his latest ambitious project “Devil’s Got My Back” (2018) is debuting at the New York Television Festival (NYTVF).
Douglas Michael Pasko was born in Schenectady, NY. He received his degree in Computer Science from the University at Albany, SUNY.
