A great case study where business and sustainability coincide proving they’re not mutually exclusive is flyknit. Flynit is a recent innovative technology that uses a woven mesh engineered to be lightweight and durable. With the coming of flyknit we were given design innovations across the board from everbramd imaginable. Even delivering the sock runner. Flyknit is big business. But the evolution of flyknit have delivered us a more sustainable critical material that does what every advocate wants. So to say, there is a way you can make great business by innovating technology and be sustainable

I have come to understand, sustainability has been misrepresented as a political movement and a left wing ideology. When we get to brass tacks and look at what the problems we’ll solve, sustainability is innovation in industry. We must reshape the narrative of what people have made it appear to look like. A better supply chain and circularity and renewable materials are all engineering and economic innovations. That will help our companies grow

I know this thought is bleeding edge and won’t be highly touted as a forward thinking idea but that is what makes it Avant garde. I know Manu anticapitalistes must follow me and this topic may not sit kindly with them. My research has shown me a sustainable company can also be a billion dollar one. And I know it won’t sit well with many anti-capitalist and people that think, billionaires shouldn’t exist and that it’s counterintuitive for a company to be sustainable and a unicorn. The one piece of the puzzle people Miss is that over anything. Sustainability as an R&D segment is innovation, from a business perspective the research gets more valuable the more forward thinking it is.
