Cabaret Scenes - Boston Find out about local cabaret events, new venues, thriving artists, etc. all in the city of Boston. W Welcome! Discounts to shows at participating venues.

What We Do: As this country’s only print publication focusing on the excitement of cabaret, presented in snug performance spaces featuring musical theater classics to pop to country to folk, The Cabaret Foundation’s Cabaret Scenes magazine and its web site are increasingly crucial to the art form’s participants and audiences as other national and local print media reduce their attention to cabaret

or eliminate it entirely. Our magazine and its website spotlight cabaret’s performers, their shows and the clubs in which the magic happens. How We Do It: We do it by delivering thousands of complimentary copies of each issue for their patrons’ reading pleasure to venues across the country. Our website provides instant information on cabaret shows and where to find them. Additional personal copies of each issue are mailed to Cabaret Foundation members, together making our magazine and its website the vital link between cabaret’s performers and showspots, and the public. Why We Do it: Because we love both the music and the exhilaration of live performances. We do it because we want those who, like us -- like you -- appreciate the unique pleasure of cabaret shows, to know more about the art and the artists they enjoy. We do it because we believe there are multitudes of others to reach and introduce to cabaret so they too will discover the pleasure of that special relationship
of the music, the charm of the performance and the warmth of the venue. What’s ahead: A continuing stream of interesting features, photos, insightful reviews and provocative opinion pieces from our staff writers and others across the country and abroad. A revitalized website, with video interviews of cabaret folk you should know and video clips of performances, added to our ongoing critical reviews of shows and CDs. Plus tablet and smartphone access that’s in the works and soon to leave the starting gate. How you can make a difference: Become a Cabaret Foundation member with your tax-deductible contribution. The foundation receives no government or corporate grants, depending on contributions from cabaret enthusiasts like you. All contributions,
no matter how modest, help us in our work. Donors of $50 or more receive personal copies of the magazine for the ensuing year. Members’ contributions enable the availability of the complimentary copies at virtually every venue across the country as well as make possible the foundation’s tireless reporting on and publicizing of this truly unique, intimate, and vibrant realm of live entertainment.
