Me against myself. This was my best ever Sprint time (55 minutes) and I only failed one obstacle, the notorious Spear Throw. So close to getting it right but the spear fell a little short. Other than that, it was an excellent race. Event was very well organised and the weather was perfect despite having rain forecasted. Thank you for making my first race here so memorable! Maybe I should make an appearance for the Phuket race?

A week late for my resolution update because I started July with a killer food poisoning 🤢 But it’s all good now! So let’s review how the second quarter of the year went.

Finally, one resolution got ticked off! I’ve completed two international sports event. The Spartan Race in Jakarta and Singapore. In fact, I’ll be completing a 3rd international event next week, another Spartan Race in Vietnam. It’ll be my first time in Ho Chi Minh City, which means by next week I’ll tick off my resolution of travelling to a new City/Country.

In terms of social growth, it’s on track to reach the goal. Still a few thousand away but I gotta remember that we have 6 months left! Another progressive resolution is my monthly 200k steps. I’ve been able to hit it for every month so far.

I’d be lying if I told you I wasn’t a little worried about the progress (or lack of) I’ve made so far. Next month will be BIG for me, the Bali half marathon. Lots of goals to break there (hopefully) 🙏🏾 Looks like I need to increase the intensity a little bit for the second half of 2024, but I’m sure in my Q3 update, there’ll be a lot more to show for, see you then!

First major tournament, a truly humbling experience. No matter how much you think you’ve progressed, the journey of improving never stops. We had some good and bad moments throughout the tournament, ultimately conceding at the round of 32.

But it’s ok, I’m happy with what we’ve achieved and you can bet we’ll come back stronger 😎

The first Spartan Race in Jakarta 🇮🇩 It was a fun one, especially with the heavy rain at the start! But of course the cool weather had its downsides, such as the slippery obstacles, even with gloves!

Now let’s get ready for the final race of the South Asian Series in Singapore 🇸🇬 See you there!

I just had to post this! One of my funniest Spartan Race photo ever.

At this point of the race, my stamina and grip strength was in the red one. But when you see a photographer at the end of the obstacle, a magical energy reserve suddenly appears.

I told the photographer, get ready for the shot, because as soon as you take it, I’m letting go of the ring and doing the penalty loop. But somehow, one ring after the other, I managed to complete the obstacle! Resulting in that picture 😬

In conclusion, please have photographers at all obstacles 🤪
