If this bill passes, a significant portion of women may be prevented from voting. The Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act (H.R. 22) could disproportionately affect women, especially those who have changed their names due to marriage or divorce, as they may face challenges in providing the required documentary proof of citizenship. This could potentially lead to a significant number of women being unable to register to vote.

Several US military branches are pausing training related to the prevention of sexual assault to comply with one of President Donald Trump’s executive orders on diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

A directive issued by Marine Corps headquarters on Feb. 4 “asked the fleet to PAUSE on all (Sexual Assault Prevention and Reporting) training due to recent changes within the White House to remove diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) from all federal policies,” according to an email obtained by the Los Angeles Times.

The Navy also confirmed it would cease such training for a period of time.

“The Navy is working to fully execute and implement all directives outlined in the Executive Orders issued by the President, ensuring that they are carried out with utmost professionalism, efficiency, and in alignment with national security objectives,” an official Navy statement said.

A military official, speaking on condition of anonymity for fear of reprisals, also confirmed the policy change within the Marine Corps to the Times. Requests for comment from the Department of Defense, the Army, Coast Guard and Air Force were not immediately returned. Details of the training policy change were first reported by Business Insider on Feb. 6.

The types of training now frozen include lessons focused on the nature of consent and sexual harassment, as well as instructions on how to safely report abuse within the military, according to the military official who spoke on the condition of anonymity. The Sexual Assault Prevention and Reporting training program was launched in 2005 and is considered “the central authority charged with preventing sexual assault in the military,” according to the program’s website.

Uncle Sam Wants YOU… to be a human incubator. Anti-Abortion Breed Bois are in full meltdown mode claiming that declining birth rates are a national security threat - and that baby farming for the state is the solution.

Just last week, Sean Duffy’s Department of Transportation jumped on the birth rate bandwagon by prioritizing funding for communities where people get hitched and crank out kids in record numbers. But the Real World star didn’t think to ask the actual breeders themselves, as abortion bans are terrifying people from even starting a family! No wonder a Michigan lawmaker stood 10 toes down for her PERSONAL decision to choose sterilization and got death threats in return. Stay mad, but stay the hell out of our uteruses. We’re not your breed cows. 🖕🏽 https://bit.ly/4jUnQdy

With the Philadelphia Eagles’ decisive win over the Kansas City Chiefs, Autumn Lockwood became the first Black woman coach to win a Super Bowl.

Lockwood, an associate performance coach, previously made history in 2023 as the first Black woman to coach a Super Bowl. The Eagles lost to the Chiefs in that game.

Women have only been coaching in the NFL since 2015, when Dr. Jen Welter was hired as an assistant coaching intern by the Arizona Cardinals. A decade later, the league had 15 women coaching full time during the 2024-2025 season, the most in NFL history.

Lockwood joined this exclusive club in 2023 as an associate performance coach for the Eagles, having previously been a strength and conditioning associate for the team. She’s worked in various positions across the industry, including director of sports performance at the University of Houston and as an intern for the Atlanta Falcons.

“God is so good,” Lockwood wrote on Instagram with a picture of herself holding the Lombardi Trophy after the game.

Fans new and old are celebrating Lockwood’s historic win online, including a shoutout on X from the tennis legend Billie Jean King.
