*Summary of the LEC Orientation-Batch #9*
Today, the LEC resource person, Dr. Ahmad Naveed (New Zealand), conducted an orientation session for Batch #9, which was a great success. Dr. Ahmad Naveed explicated 'Communicative Competence' in relation to the current offerings of Pakistani Language Education System. He observed: 'Our Language Education System is suffering from three interrelated problems: Dearth of Quality Services (weak teacher cognition), Dispersal of Concepts, and Dissipation of Resources. Our language educators can become 'real' professionals only if they are upskilled resourcefully and offer their services confidently, without wasting too much time on those areas which might give someone 'intellectual' pleasure but fail to give a 'sense of actual contribution'.'
