Little Love Letters

We’re looking for you to take part in our feature about Love in February’s issue of the Focus magazine.

Please contribute to our article by telling us below what aspects of life in Abergavenny, Crickhowell, Brecon and the surrounding area that you particularly enjoy and we’ll include it in our article.

Please make your comment fairly short and sweet. We’d like to collate lots of them, so we can’t accept long essays.

Please also be really specific. Don’t just say ‘I like the Skirrid’ – tell us what you like about it, and what season, and which bit of the view moves you etc.

If you particularly love a business, tell us why…not ‘because they make nice cakes,’ but something about which cakes are delicious and why that appeals to you.

We're delighted to bring you our festive December issue of the Focus. It's full of lots of festive fun, including our Local Gifting Guide as well as a competition to win a Hamper of goodies before December 25th. Take a look on Page 22 and be sure to take part. On a personal note, we lost our lovely dog Cosmo last month to cancer. We've often included photos of him in the magazine in various pet features over the years. Naturally we were devastated to say goodbye to him and, while we don't often bring much of our personal lives to the magazine, since he was such a big part of our lives and a huge support to us during stressful deadline weekends, it feels fitting to pay tribute to him here. Rest well, little man.
We very much hope that you will all have a restful and happy Christmas with your family and friends. Thank you, as always, for your support. We always receive such positive feedback for our magazine and it means a lot to us. This issue of the Focus is tinged with some sadness. November was a difficult month for Abergavenny with the fire in Frogmore Street, and the floods that followed the following week. These events left many people in great difficulty and strife during a busy time of the year. Our thoughts are with all of those affected.
