Im sharing this as a warning to all in the Moehau area. This was a text sent to a landowner but should be shared with all. Keep your animals and children safe.
TOXIC 24HR NOTIFICATION - MOEHAU

Please be advised that the toxic phase for the Moehau aerial pest control operation, will be carried out on the afternoon of Monday 8th September 2025 and continue on Tuesday 9th September 2025 (weather permitting).
The operation is being undertaken to protect the significant habitat and unique native species like the Coromandel striped gecko, Coromandel kiwi and Archey's frog. The operation will reduce predators to give local native species like kiwi, kererū, toutouwai and forest trees like kauri a better chance to survive and thrive.
Pesticide to be used: Sodium Fluoroacetate (1080).
Toxic warning signs will be put in place. A reminder to please check for signage if you are in the area. And;
DO NOT TOUCH poison bait
WATCH CHILDREN at all times
DO NOT EAT animals from the area (this also applies to buffer zones around the treatment area)
Poison bait or carcasses are DEADLY to DOGS
Observe these rules whenever you see warning signs about pesticides. A reminder that the presence of warning signs indicate pesticide residues may be present in baits or animals.
