When introduced the Hektor in 2021, it was unlike anything the Saxon atelier had ever built — a steel sports watch from a brand renowned for its hand-engraved gold creations. Now, the new Hektor Edition II refines that concept: featuring the reworked calibre LH 33.2-2 with an updated regulation system, a warmer nickel-silver gear train, and a distinctive petticoat-inspired design language that flows from the dial architecture to the bridges themselves.

Limited to just 99 pieces, the Edition II features a black dial, an integrated bracelet, and the kind of finishing usually reserved for precious-metal dress watches.

Swipe → to discover the details that make this Hektor one of the most characterful “everyday” timepieces ever to emerge from this small independent Saxon watchmaker.

When unveils new models, change is often subtle. In 2025, however, the introduction of the Land Dweller marked a significant step – backed by new patents and the revolutionary Dynapulse escapement. The brand also presented its first ceramic dial on the GMT-Master II, crafted in green Cerachrom to match the bezel’s daytime half. Other highlights include the Perpetual 1908 in full yellow gold, the highly sought-after Daytona with a turquoise dial, and fresh colourways for the Oyster Perpetual.

In this feature, we show you our live shots of the key novelties of the year.

As part of the celebrations marking its 250th anniversary, Breguet unveils two new models – the Classique 7225 (Ref. 7225BH0H9V6) and the Classique 7235 (Ref. 7235BH/02/9V6). Both feature cases and dials in 18-carat Breguet gold, adorned with the hand-guilloché “Quai de l’Horloge” motif, and take inspiration from historic Breguet pocket watches.

The Classique 7225, inspired by pocket watch No. 1176 made between 1802 and 1809, continues Breguet’s early pursuit of precision and magnetism. Its hand-wound calibre 74SC, beating at 10 Hz, uses magnetically pivoted balance-staffs to reduce friction and positional error. Visible through the sapphire caseback, the movement within the 41 mm gold case offers ±1 second per day accuracy and a 60-hour power reserve. The design includes two small seconds displays (at 2 and 10 o’clock, the latter with flyback) and a power reserve at 6 o’clock on a hand-guilloché dial.

The Classique 7235, inspired by pocket watch No. 5 from 1794, translates Breguet’s early design codes into a modern form. Limited to 250 pieces, it features a power reserve at 10:30, moonphase at 2, and small seconds at 5 o’clock. The automatic calibre 502.3.DRL, with a silicon balance spring, runs at 3 Hz, measures only 3.95 mm in height, and offers a 45-hour power reserve. Its 39 mm gold case bears the same “Quai de l’Horloge” motif, while the engraved movement, visible through the sapphire back, depicts the historic “Plan de Turgot” – a tribute to Breguet’s origins on Paris’s Quai de l’Horloge.

Zenith introduces a new DEFY Skyline Tourbillon, now crafted entirely in radiant rose gold. The 41mm case’s sharp facets are accentuated by alternating satin-brushed and polished surfaces. A deep brick-red dial pays direct tribute to the historic Zenith Manufacture in Le Locle, echoing its distinctive red-and-white brickwork. The dial features an engraved pattern of four-pointed stars radiating from the tourbillon aperture at 6 o’clock. The timepiece comes on an integrated rose-gold H-link bracelet and includes an additional brick-red rubber strap, both interchangeable without tools thanks to Zenith’s quick-change system.

At its core, the watch is powered by the El Primero 3630 automatic high-frequency calibre. This in-house movement delivers a frequency of 5Hz (36,000 VpH) and a 50-hour power reserve. The tourbillon carriage, a mere 0.25 grams, completes one rotation every 60 seconds. The movement’s architecture features a 3D laser-engraved “côtes de Genève” motif radiating from the tourbillon. For the first time in the DEFY Skyline, the openworked star-shaped oscillating weight is also crafted in rose gold. This exclusive version is available exclusively through Zenith boutiques and a select network of authorised retailers.

Swiss luxury watchmaker Piaget has announced the ‘Collage’ Limited Edition Andy Warhol Watch, a run of just 50 numbered pieces, marking the latest creation from its ongoing partnership with the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. This collaboration, which formally began in 2024, revives a historical link dating back to the 1970s, when the iconic Pop artist was a renowned client of the brand and owned several Piaget timepieces, notably the famed ‘Black Tie’ watch. The new edition moves beyond simple tribute, taking direct inspiration from one of Warhol’s most poignant late-career works: a 1986 Polaroid collage self-portrait, which critics have viewed as an acknowledgment of the artist’s mortality.

The timepiece is housed in a stepped 45 mm cushion-shaped case made of 18-carat yellow gold, a metal chosen as a nod to Warhol’s own original Piaget watch from 1973. The dial, however, is the focal point, transforming the visual style of Pop Art into the delicate realm of _haute horlogerie_. Created using the rare _métier d’art_ of gemstone marquetry, the abstract composition is formed by the meticulous juxtaposition of four ornamental stones: black onyx, yellow Namibian serpentine, pink opal, and green chrysoprase. Each microscopic piece is individually cut and fitted by hand, resulting in a textured interpretation of the self-portrait. According to Piaget’s creative director, the design aims to express Warhol’s spirit with subtlety, deliberately avoiding his more obvious iconography, and is powered by the maison’s ultra-thin, in-house self-winding Calibre 501P1.

In celebration of its 250th anniversary, Breguet is broadening its Reine de Naples collection with the introduction of two new women’s timepieces, the References 9935 and 8925. This collection pays homage to what is widely believed to be the world’s first genuine wristwatch, commissioned by Caroline Murat, Queen of Naples and sister of Napoleon Bonaparte, from watchmaker Abraham-Louis Breguet in 1810 and delivered in 1812. The original watch is lost, but workshop records attest to its creation as an “oblong watch with a repeater mechanism on a wristband,” establishing a multifaceted inspiration for the collection dedicated exclusively to women since 2002.

The new watches incorporate several firsts for the line and feature Breguet gold, a custom durable rose gold alloy. The Reference 9935 is the larger model, measuring 36.5 x 28.5 mm, and introduces a revised automatic Calibre 537L2 with a 45-hour power reserve. Its most notable premiere is a unique double-level dial – a thin layer of Tahitian mother-of-pearl beneath dark blue aventurine glass – creating a mysterious depth, alongside a moon phase display and applied Arabic Breguet numerals. Available in four versions, it also features a new bracelet design that echoes the collection’s lug structure and the Queen’s fondness for pearls, offered in Breguet gold or blue alligator leather.

Meanwhile, the Reference 8925 is a slightly smaller model at 33 x 25 mm, focusing on displaying hours and minutes only, and is powered by the established automatic Calibre 586/1. It features a greater number of diamonds set on the bezel and fl**ge compared to previous models and is offered with three dial options, including white mother-of-pearl and two variations of Breguet gold. The 8925 is fitted exclusively with the new Breguet gold bracelet, which CEO Gregory Kissling describes as ‘blending jewellery and timekeeping for everyday wear’.

Both watches’ cases are decorated with hand-guilloché motifs, and the automatics’ oscillating weights feature the “Petit Trianon” motif.

With three new models — the Villeret Quantième Complet Phases de Lune, Ultraplate, and Quantième Phases de Lune — now updates the line through revised cases, new dial options, and updated calibres across sixteen references.

Blancpain’s story begins in 1735 in the village of Villeret — the birthplace of one of the world’s oldest watch brands and the origin of one of its key collections. Our latest article traces how the Villeret line, first shaped in the 1980s with the Quantième Complet featuring a moonphase, became central to Blancpain’s mechanical watchmaking. From the six “masterpieces” of traditional complications to the practical under-lug corrector system introduced in 2004, the collection shows how Blancpain has approached technical development over time.
