The Nemaha County, Nebraska Sheriff's Department has reported that the remains of 43-year-old Alexander Mayfield, of Auburn were discovered inside a vehicle recovered Wednesday morning from he Missouri River, just south of the Brownville, Nebraska boat dock.

Mayfield had been reported missing on August 1.

An autopsy has been ordered. Foul play does not appear to be involved according to the report.

Wednesday morning a vehicle was recovered following an investigation by Nemaha County Deputies which led them to the area with specialized assistance from the Missouri Highway Patrol and Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, pinpointing the location which resulted in the recovery of the vehicle.

Recovery efforts were assisted by Western Contracting and Benefiel Towing.

According to a Sarpy County Sheriff's Office report, a vehicle driven by 33-year-old Brittany Munoz, was eastbound when it went off the right side of the road and rolled shortly before 5:30.

The Falls City Volunteer Ambulance Squad is hosting a taco feed Sunday from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at 18th and Barada Streets.
The event is being held to celebrate the squads 50th anniversary and to kick off Emergency Medical Services Week.
A free will offering will be accepted. Donations will be put towards the purchase of an electric stretcher and auto loader in our new ambulance that should be arriving in the next few weeks. This will be used for long distance transports.
