Down to my last 22 copies of Good Game’s LP “Get Good”!!

I really love this album - It’s probably in my top 10 of all Choke Artist releases if I’m being completely honest and it still holds up almost two years later.

Get Good features a great mix of math rock, emo,"gay pop", and folk. The songwriting and message is so strong throughout the album. Very proud of my friend and the entire band for doing such a great job on this album ❤️

This will not be going to 2nd press - once they’re gone they are gone forever xo

Spotlight Sale: Choke Artist Flashlight Tee 🔦

Super rad shirt now on sale in the webstore! Depicts a flashlight beaming through a cave filled with critters, lighting up the Choke Artist logo like it’s the freakin’ Bat Symbol . Text at the bottom reads “shining a light on the underground”. Drawn by the very talented .art

This label was started in the seedy basements of New Brunswick NJ basement shows; literally “underground” music. The imagery of cops breaking up shows, shining a flashlight on a scattering crowd will always be burned in my memory. Lots of fun times, lots of great music, lots of noise ordinance tickets.

The M.O. of this label has always been to showcase and spotlight any music that feels overlooked in the “mainstream”. We try to bring you music that is slept on - music that averts trends and norms, music that deserves so much more attention but for some reason lives in the shadows; in the basements and darkness. It’s probably the contrarian cool guy in me (Everything Popular is Wrong!)

Merch Spotlight: Ando San “Seeing Pastures” Vinyl LP

Ando San’s 2023 album offers him at a crossing road in life; looking forward to brighter days while sitting in the shadows of uncertainty. Introspective, optimistic, and vibey - this album offers a lot both musically and lyrically.

On top of being a crazy guitarist, Ando is an incredible producer/lyricist/all around musician. Super talented guy and I'm stoked we could collab and do a vinyl run for his 2023 album.

Happy 2nd birthday to “In Small Conversation” by Use Big Words. A unique, bubbly, & dancy LP from the north NJ tappy trio. Tasty songwriting, incredible band chemistry, and something that can't be duplicated by anyone else - character.

I still truly believe this band to be one of NJ’s best emo/twinkly treasures. As low key as they can be online they are capable of some banger music. I have been hearing rumblings of a little more activity from them in the next few months too.

We’re down to the last 60 copies of this record. I have 15 of this bubble gum pop variant left!

Choke Artist Fest Gratitude Post 🙏

Saturday was such an amazing day, it’s honestly hard to put into words. Gigantic thanks to anyone who came out and chilled, every band that ripped a set, and everyone who kept the show running smoothly. People kept thanking me specifically for putting the event together and all I could say was “we’re all a part of this, I’m just the guy sending emails”.

As corny as it sounds, Choke Artist Fest would have been nothing without every single person involved; it truly was a group effort. I’m lucky to be surrounded by such an amazing group of talented musicians and friends that inspire me to keep working. I’m so proud of what we’ve all accomplished and built together over the years.

I really care about this community, the music, & the people involved. So many friendly faces and people I’ve met through music were there on Saturday. It was such a great hang and vibe all night. Might’ve been the sleep depravation but I definitely happy cried a couple of times at the gig :*).

🚨CHOKE ARTIST FEST IS 4 DAYS AWAY 🚨

It’s gonna be such a sick day I’m so stoked. There’s 5 tickets left online so grab one now if you want to be there. The venue will be allowing 30-ish walk ups the day of the show so if you decide to come last minute make sure you get there early! Here are slides with info and fun facts:

People are traveling from 16 different states (and 1 person from Canada) to be there. Wild! It really is such a special line up if you’re into this weird-niche style of music. Thnx to all the people making the trip

MIDWEST 🚨

Very excited to have our very own Choke Artist Showcase at PUGFEST this upcoming Sunday in Ferndale Michigan. Do not miss out on this bill it’s only 6 days away!

The entire lineup for the whole weekend is absolutely nuts and I highly recommend checking it out. So many heavy hitters coming through. Ferndale is an awesome town with great food and culture and I can't wait to hang.

Thank you to for being supporters of the label and letting me put on a showcase at PUGFEST. Big shout out to Kyle & Ian specifically for all that they do for DIY in eastern Michigan. It’s comforting knowing that there are likeminded people keeping music alive in different corners of the country. This festival is a huge feat and I can't wait to check it out in person.
