Sundial is an old tool to measure time by using the position of the sun.
It has very old origins since it was used already during the neolithic age to understand the best moments of the year to plant or harvest, or to forecast events like solar or lunar eclipses.

This sundial shows the expression Panta Rei next to it, a sentence (πάντα ῥεῖ) by the Greek philosopher Heraclitus meaning everything flows. The combination of sundial and Panta Rei reminds us of the cyclic nature of life.

Lake Como -also known as Lake Lario- is a natural glacial-fluvial lake in the Lombard prealps that straddles the provinces of Como and Lecco in norther Italy. It is in 197m of altitude between the plain of the Po river and Alps. The lake took a distinctive inverted Y shape, however local people prefer to say the shape is of human body, quite like a Chinese character for a person, Rén.

Hey, welcome or welcome back!

You know what a democratic society depends upon an informed and educated citizenry. As in this place we are always fascinated about the importance of the information, today we will see how information is used by the illiberal leaders to be in power.

People want to live in a democracy either real or pretended.

Now If I say, opposite of democracy, which is dictatorship? What names of the dictator that comes to your mind, Mao or Hi**er? That kind of dictatorship still exists in few parts of the world. However, thanks to the internet the free flow of information became a part of everyday life, it fades away the borders. A new form of autocracy has emerged that is better adapted to a world of open borders, international media, and knowledge-based economies. In the Turkey of Erdogan, Peru of Alberto Fujimori (1990-2000), the Hungary of Viktor Orban, and the Russia of Vladimir Putin, illiberal leaders have managed to remove almost all constraints on their power while using relatively little repression and pretending to be democratic. With the help free flow of knowledge, a new kind of authoritarian leaders came into existence. Today we are going to talk about a new concept which is called informational autocrats, based on a research published in journals of public economics.

Hey, welcome or welcome back!

You know what, it seems it is really possible to fake it till you make it.

A fascinating study highlights the susceptibility for listeners to be convinced by poor quality content as long as it is delivered in a confident and authoritative manner.

At first this video discusses an academic study carried out in 1976, and then tried to connect the extracts of the research into our real life situations. And at the end I share my opinion on the same.

In this information age there is so much information just a click away from you. However, deriving meaning out of the ample information we are exposed is scarce. So, here I invite people who are passionate not only about keeping themselves up to date with the trending information, but also practical use of the information for practical use.

This place would focus on simplification, conceptualization and exemplification of the trending information out of the bookish nature, so that we could learn the theory to draw a pattern of from the information and adapt them according to our need to make use of them in our field of interest and life.

This particular video is about the concept of liking gap. After every conversation, whether it is with a stranger or a friend, we revisit the conversation and wonder if the other person like us or not. Why does this happen to us? How to avoid this trap?
