Take the same trip down the Seine as the athletes are for the Paris 2024 Olympics Opening Ceremony. We'll see all the Olympic competition sites along the Seine as well as notable landmarks from their perspective.

Over 10 thousand athletes representing 205 delegations will be participating in a massive boat parade along the Seine in Paris. The six kilometer route will begin at Pont d'Austerlitz and end at Pont d'Iéna where the Olympic Ceremony will continue at Trocadéro, across from the Eiffel Tower.

The USS Texas left one of the biggest craters in Normandy, but the war left a bigger impression on Charles, my guide.

“They say that everything is bigger in Texas,” said Charles, our guide, as he pointed to the horizon around Omaha Beach. During D-Day, battleships provided cover which left behind a pockmarked landscape full of craters. “One of the biggest was made by the USS Texas,” as he described the gun ...

Marée basse // Low Tide was made in celebration of Christo and Jeanne-Claude's L’Arc de Triomphe, Wrapped exhibition. The third wave of covid lockdowns came to an end towards the end of that Summer. And in a moment where the tide had retreated, the city came alive, brought out and together by the opening of the exhibition. An estimated six million people attended in person.

"Planned by the conceptual artist 60 years ago, the posthumous work transforms a great monument with a glistening cloak. It feels like a liberating moment for the city," wrote the NY Times.

It was wonderful being able to attend on the first and last days and seeing people from all walks of life enjoy a moment together in the midst of the pandemic. Beaucoup de rires et sourires. I hope you enjoy it.

This is superb cover of La Vie En Rose set to various films set in and around Paris. I originally created this in April 2020, during the Covid-19 lockdown period, as a ways to channel some of that restless energy into a piece that looked towards better days ahead. I hope you enjoy it.

After twenty years from my last French class, I decided to pick it back up as I was heading towards middle age, hoping maybe this time it would all make sense.

It's been about 18 years since I last took French. I thought about taking Spanish, since it'd be more pragmatic here in Texas, but decided to take French since there's some familiarity and I'll be going there a few times in the next calendar year (hopefully to catch Christo's work next year).
