Another artist whose work I adore and whom it is a privilege to bring into the GUN HONEY fold: the brilliant Jasmin Darnell. Joanna Tan returns to comic book stores for an all-new GUN HONEY adventure -- GUN HONEY: COLLISION COURSE -- on May 15. We open in the jungles of Borneo and from there head to Yokohama, where we get on the trail of a legendary gangster; but Joanna's not the only one trying to track him down, and when the hunters meet, the collision will be explosive. Issue 1 cover artists include Adam Hughes, Derrick Chew, and Sean Phillips (as well as returning cover model Tabitha Lyons for beautiful photo covers!).

Big day tomorrow: three great reads hitting stores! FAST CHARLIE by Victor Gischler, basis for the new Pierce Brosnan movie (which I just watched on streaming and really enjoyed); SEED ON THE WIND by Rex Stout, a stunning novel lost for 93 years; and the paperback edition of THE BIG BUNDLE by Max Allan Collins, featuring true-crime detective Nathan Heller’s first appearance in Hard Case Crime. On the novel side of the house, we just got this unusual title in from the printer: not one of our typical painted covers, instead a photo of Pierce Brosnan, since he's starring in a movie adaptation of Victor Gischler's Edgar Award-nominated first novel, originally GUN MONKEYS, now retitled FAST CHARLIE to match the movie. (Which, incidentally, also stars James Caan in his final role, as an aging Mob boss. Hard not to want to see that.) Morena Baccarin of FIREFLY fame is in it too, and the director is Phillip Noyce of PATRIOT GAMES and SALT (and many other movies), and I'm told the movie will be out in December. I know the book will be out then -- hopefully the two will neatly coincide. Either way, though, the book is a rollicking read and we're pretty excited to have an excuse to bring it back for the first time in ~20 years. https://shorturl.at/mxUV7
The fourth issue of HEAT SEEKER -- the climax and finale of the first 4-issue storyline -- arrived in comic stores this week, so you can now read the whole story, from twist to twist and on to the (hopefully!) satisfying conclusion. This beautiful cover is by Fay Dalton, but there are variants by Claudia Caranfa, Carla Cohen, and others. Hope you pick it up and that you enjoy it.
