I’ve had a lot of discovery and coaching calls this week and everyone seems to be very concerned about their follower count. Want to know what I think...? 🤷🏼♀️
STOP focusing on the number of followers you have and START focusing on providing value for your audience. If you focused more on value than numbers then I promise you the followers will come! 📲
I remember when I started this business I thought no one would hire me or take me seriously unless I had thousands of followers like all the other big social media managers. I quickly learned this was far from the truth. The more value I provided to my audience (mini trainings on Instagram stories and educational posts) the more clients hired me.
‼️The most important thing you can do is showcase yourself as an EXPERT in your field. The more knowledge you share with your audience the more you will build up that LIKE, KNOW & TRUST factor with them so they feel confident in hiring you or buying products from you. Build those personal connections!
So for everyone constantly worrying about how many followers you have, trust me we’ve all been there. Now I want you to throw that fear and concern out the window. From now on focus on educational, relatable, inspiring, consistent content and watch your page grow. 📈
Make people believe in you as much as you believe in yourself! ✨
Who’s with me?! 🙋🏼♀️
WHAT TO DO AFTER YOU POST TO INSTAGRAM 📲
What do you do after you post to Instagram? Sit and wait for the likes and comments to flow in? 🤔
🙅🏼♀️ Well today’s the day we STOP posting and disappearing!
When you post your content only gets pushed out to 10% of your followers. If that 10% engages with your content it’s telling Instagram that people like your post so it will push it out to another 10% and so on.
Here’s what you DO need to do once you post.
1️⃣ After you post your content you need to add your hashtags (up to 30) as the first comment. This will help boost your post because a comment counts as engagement.
2️⃣ Add your post to your stories letting people know you have a new post up. People tend to watch stories first when they log on to IG because stories disappear within 24 hours so they want to know what’s going on now. This will prompt them to go look and engage with your new post. 🙌🏼
3️⃣ Be available to respond back to comments right away. That first hour is crucial for your post. If it doesn’t perform well during the first hour it means that first 10% did not engage with the post and it didn’t get pushed out to as many people as you had hoped. By commenting back away you’re boosting engagement and also showing those commenters you see and hear them and appreciate the time they took to engage with you.
4️⃣ ENGAGE!!! You need to be proactive. Engage with the people you follow by going through your feed and liking and commenting on your pictures. Go to those hashtags you posted and engage with other people using those hashtags. Think of hashtags your target market uses and engage with those posts! The options are endless. Make sure you engage for at least 15-20 minutes after you post to help get more eyes on your page and new post!
