DJ biog (2023 UPDATE)

I was born and raised in Offenbach am Main next to a city that would shape Dance and esp. Techno music from very early on. First I was introduced to Dance Music and Chart music thru the extensive record collection of my dad from a toddlers age (thats roughly 46 years by now). After my parents separated we moved 5 km away from my hometown. There, from the age of 10, music became my sanctuary. Early key influences were Kraftwerk, Jean Michael Jarre, Mike Oldfield, Ultravox, Anne Clarke and The Art Of Noise. Another key moment: At the age of 14 i learned to mix records together within a 2 minute go at it. I simultaneously had my first clubbing experiences through the care of one of my cousins and her Dj boyfriend, dropping Demo tapes with them all night long to the major clubs all over the region. Before the first wave of Techno, Since the mid 80's i was active in Hip Hop culture and also listened to a lot of EBM, Disco, Soul, Dance and Electronic Pop Music and by the late 80's i was introduced to the early pioneering Techno and House music through local Clubs, best friends and Radio Stations. From 1989-1993 I was a regular at Frankfurt's Techno clubs mainly the OMEN on Friday nights and on Saturdays at The Music Box and the Dorian Gray. In 1993 I swapped the Dancefloor for the DJ booth and started playing out records alone, or together with my friends from the DELIRIUM posse in various bars, galleries, clubs and parties mainly in Offenbach, Frankfurt, Darmstadt and Berlin. After lessons in early minimal house and techno music, i specialised myself into djing mainly Electro and Electronica, age 22+.. to this day! I moved to Manchester UK in 1998 to become a close affiliate and friend of the Skam Records crew and many more UK underground artists and collectives whilst creating a string of Events and parties in my newfound hometown. Moving to Berlin in 2010 gave me the opportunity to work with many more talented individuals and gain experience through the Littlebig Agency, Berghain, Kraftwerk/Ohm, Tresor, Warp Records and further with AE just to name a few. In 2017 I created and co-managed the AV art space Modulart in Berlin (and after a hiatus rejoined the project space now known as Backsteinboot, newly founded by my dear friend, colleague and artist Inga Inganova, around 2 years ago). Since 2018 i took up a long lasting residency with Klub Metro, Up To Date and a forest Festival in the Podlasie Region of Poland. And now, since the TRESOR homecoming is in full swing, i think it's time to reignite my passion for Techno music and begin a new chapter of music production.
