Wes the Warehouse Guy x JOHNNY MATHIS: Christmas Time Is Here • Limited Christmas Tree Green Vinyl Edition 🎄 https://bit.ly/3QteCJc
Johnny Mathis is known the world over as The Voice of Romance, but the legendary vocalist deserves another title, as well: The Voice of Christmas. Mathis’ very first holiday album, 1958’s Merry Christmas, sold over five million copies and remains one of the biggest-selling Christmas albums of all time. Now, Johnny Mathis is back with his first album since 2017 and his first yuletide set in a decade. Real Gone Music and Second Disc Records are proud to premiere the new Christmas Time Is Here on vinyl. This exquisite album celebrates the season as only Johnny Mathis can, with elegant, beautiful (and, yes, romantic) renditions of some of the greatest Christmas carols and classics of all time. Produced by longtime Mathis collaborators Fred Mollin and Jay Landers, Christmas Time Is Here finds the singer revisiting many of his favorite seasonal songs and adding two–the bluesy “Merry Christmas, Baby” and heartfelt “Auld Lang Syne”–to his already-considerable repertoire. He’s joined by Broadway and Hollywood star Kristin Chenoweth for a rollicking “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town” and brings intimacy to a burnished “White Christmas” and a new take on his chart-topping “When a Child Is Born.” Christmas Time Is Here is filled with Mathis’ warm holiday wishes for his longtime fans such as the poignant “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” and “May the Good Lord Bless and Keep You.” And his innate sincerity shines on the Charlie Brown Christmas favorite that lends the album its title, “Christmas Time Is Here.” With the arrival of a new Johnny Mathis holiday record, Christmas time really is here again; this album promises to become a cherished part of your family’s own Yuletide music tradition. But better hurry if you want a keepsake…Christmas tree green vinyl pressing limited to 1000 copi

Wes the Warehouse Guy x POWERMAN 5000: Mega!! Kung-Fu Radio • Blue with Black Swirl Vinyl 🔹 https://bit.ly/44T41L9
Having (barely) survived the inaugural vinyl detonation of Powerman 500”’s Tonight the Stars Revolt!, we’re back with its predecessor, 1997’s Mega!! Kung-Fu Radio. But the blast radius on this one might even be bigger…after all, the initial title of this record (their first studio album) was The Blood Splat Rating System. Once that release won awards from the Boston Phoenix Reader’s Poll for Best Metal Album, Best Rap Album, and Album of the Year, DreamWorks signed PM5K and re-issued Blood Splat under the Mega!! Kung-Fu Radio title in remixed, remastered, and supercharged form with a couple of new tracks, the title cut and the great “20 Miles to Texas 25 to Hell.” Just as was the case when we released Tonight the Stars Revolt, this baby’s never been on vinyl before, and we’re pressing it in blue with black swirl vinyl complete with a printed inner sleeve. Duck and cover!

HEINS HOFFMAN-RICHTER a.k.a. ROD McKUEN: Music to Freak Your Friends and Break Your Lease • Limited Glow in the Dark Vinyl Edition -Web Store Exclusive
Tired of “Monster Mash”? Through with calling “Ghostbusters”? If your Halloween playlist is begging for something different, look no further than the frightfully fun Music to Freak Your Friends and Break Your Lease. Don’t believe us? Take The Bride of Frankenstein’s word for it–she’s on the cover! Real Gone Music and Second Disc Records have given a new lease on life to one of the most unusual records of all time. Upon its initial release in 1974, this “Symphony for Tape Delay, IBM Instruction Manual, & Ohm Septet” was credited to “recognized raconteur, genius, composer, musicologist, conductor” Heins Hoffman-Richter, whom the original liner notes blithely inform us, “died from an ear lobe tumor.” It turns out that the late Hoffman-Richter was none other than best-selling poet and all-time cult music hero Rod McKuen…but you won’t find any cats named Sloopy here. Instead, Music to Freak Your Friends and Break Your Lease is Rod McKuen’s very own Metal Machine Music. He immersed himself in musique concrète, or music which utilizes recorded sounds as raw material, for the most unusual album in his vast discography. Like Lou Reed’s later experiment in feedback and noise, Freak Your Friends features no songs or traditionally structured compositions…but it just might scare off those candy-hungry kiddies on your doorstep with its Moog-tastic mayhem! Simply put, this wild journey through the electronic underground has to be heard to be believed…and this is its first-ever reissue. It arrives on seaglass with black swirl vinyl limited to 750 copies, in a package that replicates the collectible original release and also includes an insert with new liner notes from The Second Disc’s Joe Marchese. Tales from the Crypt Presents: Demon Knight—Original Motion Picture Soundtrack • Clear with Green & Purple Swirl Vinyl https://bit.ly/3uddlcC
Wanna hear the soundtrack to Armageddon? This 1995 film starred William Sadler as the Demon Knight, who, along with his new recruit, Jada Pinkett Smith, is charged with fending off The Collector (Billy Zane) and his army of demons from acquiring an ancient relic that is the only thing preventing the complete destruction of the human race. While the flick did meh box office and was panned critically, the soundtrack was easily one of the best of its era and of its kind, an all-star line-up of thrash and heavy metal acts mostly doing otherwise unavailable material (only the track by Pantera appears to have been released prior to the movie). The Pantera, Megadeth, Melvins, and Biohazard entries are particulary good, and the one hip hop tune on the collection, Gravediggaz' '1-800-Murder,' is an archetypal 'horrorcore' rap song. But perhaps the best tune is 'Hey Man Nice Shot' by Filter, an outfit that hadn't released anything prior to this soundtrack. Since this movie came out in 1995, it only came out on LP in Europe at the time; our Real Gone reissue brings it back on clear with green and purple swirl vinyl!
Side One
1. Cemetery Gates (Demon Knight Edit)— Pantera
2. Hey Man Nice Shot— Filter
3. My Misery (Demon Knight)— Machine Head
4. Diadems—Megadeth
5. Instant Larry—Melvins
Side Two
1. Fall Guy—Rollins Band
2. Beaten—Biohazard
3. Policia—Sepultura Sepultura
4. Tonight We Murder—Ministry
5. 1-800-Suicide—Gravediggaz

Scary good! FRANKIE STEIN AND HIS GHOULS: Ghoul Music • Limited Coke Clear with Yellow Swirl Vinyl https://bit.ly/4441eOP
After years of visiting graveyards, combing through haunted houses, and pursuing (heh heh) dead ends, we finally tracked down the rights to the legendary Frankie Stein and His Ghouls series! Why did we risk life, limb, and livelihood to find these records? Well, there’s something extra special about these Frankie Stein and His Ghouls records. You wouldn’t think that Halloween records released by a subsidiary (Power Records) of a children’s specialty label (Peter Pan Records) would be so…er…visceral, but these records are definitely the most out there of their kind. And there might be a reason for that…you see, it has been revealed that the Power label enlisted the aid of some very, very interesting musicians for some of its projects. For instance, the imprint’s 1966 album Batman and Robin by The Sensational Guitars of Dan and Dale was actually produced by Tom Wilson of Bob Dylan, Velvet Underground, and Mothers of Invention fame—and the band was made up free jazz legend Sun Ra and members of The Blues Project! Which has led to all sorts of speculation about who Frankie Stein and His Ghouls actually were; among the names bandied about are guitarist Duane Eddy, jazz saxophonist Max Greger, and, yes, Sun Ra and the Blues Project again. At any rate, prepare yourself for frenetic rock-and-twist workouts punctuated by deranged howls and shattering sound effects. And with a back story like this, it’s no wonder original copies of these albums sell for downright horrifying prices!“What Kind of Ghoul Am I,” “Shoot-A-Nanny,” “Fly Me to the Goon”…it’s twisted humor with a Twist (plus a Hully Gully, Surf, and Mashed Potato)! This little 1965 devil has never been reissued, and comes in very ghoul coke clear with yellow swirl vinyl limited to 900 copies.

#SoundtrackSunday Wes The Warehouse Guy x GREAT EXPECTATIONS: The Album • Limited 2-LP Emerald Green #Vinyl Edition https://bit.ly/40CbN9U
Alfonso Cuarón’s 1998 film changed a few things from the original Charles Dickens novel: Abel Magwitch became Arthur Lustig, Miss Havisham became Nora Dinsmoor, poor old Pip became Finn…and most importantly for our purposes, early 19th century London became 1990s New York! And so did the soundtrack—featuring tunes by Chris Cornell (the rare “Sunshower”), Pulp, Scott Weiland, Iggy Pop, and The Verve Pipe, its finger was firmly on the pulse of the late 20th century music scene, with a few welcome curveballs (Cesaria Evora, Grateful Dead?) to boot. Collectors will also note that Tori Amos wrote “Siren” for the movie, and that “Today” by Poe—which, like several other songs in the score, did not appear in the film—makes its only appearance here. Great Expectations: The Album was originally released only on CD, so vinyl soundtrack collectors have been lobbying for years to see it out on wax, and we are obliging with a 2-LP set inside a gorgeous gatefold jacket, pressed in emerald green vinyl to match Gwyneth Paltrow’s ravishing dress from the film. Limited!

A2. Siren—Tori Amos

Wes the Warehouse Guy x MARVELOUS 3: Hey Album! • Pink Vinyl Edition
Before Butch Walker produced and/or wrote for such huge acts as (gulp) Pink, Fall Out Boy, Avril Lavigne, Weezer, Green Day, Katy Perry, and (double gulp) Taylor Swift, he fronted this fondly-remembered power pop trio. Hey!Album actually first came out as an independent release in 1998, but the band re-recorded almost half of it when they signed to Elektra, who released it in 1999. The extra TLC proved well worth it, as the record scored a hit with “Freak of the Week” and introduced Walker’s hooky and sardonically self-deprecating songwriting to the masses (it also landed Marvelous 3 fashion spreads for Abercrombie & Fitch and Calvin Klein…they were, as the saying goes, easy on the eyes). This Real Gone reissue marks the FIRST time Hey!Album is making it to music retail on vinyl, and for its debut we’re pressing it pretty in pink vinyl, with a printed inner sleeve featuring lyrics. A ‘90s classic! https://bit.ly/3ObvC5g

Wes the Warehouse Guy x A Mighty Wind: The Album • Green Vinyl
https://bit.ly/3O7x3BA
The key to the success of Christopher Guest’s satirical comedies is that, not so deep down, he harbors real affection and deep understanding for the targets of his lampooning. So, while A Mighty Wind lay the hopelessly square excesses and petty jealousies of the early ‘60s folk movement bare for all to see, it also captured the naïve, yes, but charming idealism of the time…and wound up presenting performances that do such a good job of imitating the original recordings that inspired them that sometimes you had to squint pretty hard to see the wink and the nod behind the songs. And the resulting soundtrack album, which, of course, featured Guest’s amazing troupe of character actors (who doubled as songwriters here), including Folksmen Michael McKean and Harry Shearer (playing acoustic versions of the instruments they played in Spinal Tap), Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara as the Ian & Sylvia-esque Mitch & Mickey, and Jane Lynch and Parker Posey as part of the New Christy Minstrels parody The New Main Street Singers, stands as a pretty fair folk-pop record in its own right. A Mighty Wind—The Album also includes a couple of tracks not in the film, including The Folksmen’s hilarious rendition of the Rolling Stones’ “Start Me Up” (you haven’t lived till you hear the line “you make a grown man come” sung in three-part folk harmony). First-ever LP reissue, pressed in forest green vinyl!

Wes the Warehouse Guy x ILL BISKITS: Chronicle of Two Losers • Limited Coke Bottle Clear Vinyl Edition
By popular demand, this lost classic from the Golden Age of Hip Hop is finally getting a vinyl release! And when we say lost, we mean really lost; 1995’s Chronicle of Two Losers barely even saw a legit release before being deleted, which explains why even CD copies go for triple figures (this is its first legit release on LP). Ill Biskits was a one-and-done, German-born, Virginia-based duo composed of Deeda and Kleph Dollaz (R.I.P.) whose undeniable abilities on the mic and introspective, deep rhymes were mixed into hypnotic beats courtesy of D.I.T.C. producer superstars Buckwild and Lord Finesse. This album captures hip hop really coming of age as an art form; Chronicle of Two Losers has lyrical and sonic layers that unfold with repeated spins. Highly, highly recommended…so grab our coke bottle clear vinyl pressing while you can. It’s limited to 1000 copies, and includes an inner sleeve displaying the original CD booklet’s dreamy artwork.

Wes the Warehouse Guy x HANS ZIMMER: The Last Samurai - Original Motion Picture Score • Limited 2-LP Gold Vinyl Edition
Look for this at your favorite independent record stores ✨ recordstoreday.com
The Last Samurai marked master screen composer Hans Zimmer’s 100th score, and it was and is perhaps his best. The 2003 film starred Tom Cruise as a Civil War soldier who travels to Japan and becomes embroiled in the clash between the Imperial Japanese Army and traditional Japanese samurai culture, lending Zimmer ample opportunity to display his unparalleled ability to fuse orchestral, Westernized elements with indigenous motifs (in this case, utilizing the traditional Japanese taiko drum for action sequences and the #shakuhachi flute and koto for more pastoral passages). Fans of his work in The Thin Red Line will particularly enjoy this soundtrack, which, for being a score for an action film, includes long stretches of beautifully contemplative soundscapes (Zimmer liked it too, as “The Last Samurai Suite” appears on his new live album).
We at Real Gone Music are proud to bring this soundtrack to LP for the first time, in a double-album housed inside a gatefold jacket and pressed in gold vinyl limited to 1000 copies. Highly recommended!

Warehouse Wes x DON CHERRY: Hear & Now • Black Vinyl Edition ⚡️ After bursting on the scene with Ornette Coleman, trumpeter Don Cherry went on to make some of the most interesting and collectible albums in modern jazz, particularly during the ‘70s, when he incorporated world music motifs into a singular style of jazz fusion. Produced by Narada Michael Walden, 1977’s Hear & Now was the only solo album Cherry recorded for Atlantic, and while it’s probably the most rock-heavy of any of the albums in his catalog, it still displays his signature eclecticism, incorporating Indian drones on “Mahakali” and African drums on the dazzling, album-ending suite “Journey of Milarepa/Shanti/The Ending Movement - Liberation (from Welkin of Infinity).” It also boasts a fantastic supporting cast with Michael Brecker, Collin Walcott, Marcus Miller, Tony Williams, Steve Jordan, and guitarist Stan Samole, who particularly shines.
