On Friday I will be hosting a COSPLAY 101 Panel where Iā€™ll break down how to get started in the magical world of cosplay @ 4:00 in room #603 !
Iā€™ll also be participating in the Masters of Cosplay Competition on Saturday as a judge! Iā€™m so excited for this contest - and cannot wait to see all of the incredible cosplayers! šŸ„°

(Warning : progress rant below)

Iā€™ve also come to the conclusion that Iā€™m going to completely remake the toes/glove armor. They just arenā€™t as clean as Iā€™d like them to be.
But Iā€™m excited to paint the grime on this set. Iā€™m hoping to give it a really nice patina. (Although putting teal on this makes me kinda wanna barf from nerves lol)

Iā€™ve also run into a few issues with my cloth bits for this costume. (Hence why I havenā€™t posted any pics of them yet) I thought I was super happy with the skirt I made, but after re looking at it and trying it on with the armor, I absolutely hate it. šŸ˜­ Which -sucks- because I used the GOOD fabric( even after making a mock up) . But it is what it is. I want the skirt to have a robe effect and also incorporate a paneled look to it to match up with the scroll ribbons. Almost like a circle skirt but more structured but not pleats? Idk itā€™s frustratingā€¦ I want to up my tailoring/ sewing for this project so thereā€™s going to be some trial and error.. but the ā€œif Iā€™m not good at it the first timeā€ is really weighing on my motivation meter.

Iā€™m also having a tough time trouble shooting the scale mail for the top. You should be able to see it between the belt and the chest plate, but thereā€™s such a small gap I worry that if I make the scales out of metal/foam like I originally planned itā€™ll add wayyyyy too much bulk and ruin any sort of ā€œshapeā€ my waist has. I could make them out of fabric, which would be more comfy? But I worry it wonā€™t give the right effect.

And THEN thereā€™s the wig and the sword and the ears/makeup/ straps on all of the armor which I havenā€™t even began to think about yet šŸ˜•

All in all Iā€™m happier with the way this looks now that I can see the colors blocked out. But Iā€™m still pretty EH about it all. I just need to focus on one part at a time instead of letting it all run through my head at onceā€¦ šŸ˜¬

Moooore progress! Really starting to see it all coming together! If you canā€™t tell I am doing everything in my power to make everything besides the chest armorā€¦ itā€™s super intimidating, but I am so jazzed with how everything is looking so far! It gives me hope that Iā€™ll be able to knock out the chest easy peasy! Still have a LONG way to go!

Iā€™ve got almost everything attached and ready for rigging/paint for the Legendary Paladin build designed by the amazing Zach Fischer! This has been such a fun build full of details (SO MANY GD DETAILS !! DANG YOU ZACH! šŸ’œšŸ˜‚! )I cannot wait to get some plastidip and paint on this foam! Itā€™s KILLING ME THAT THE WEATHER HAS BEEN SO POOPY! šŸ˜­ So itā€™s into the fabric portions of the costume next. I am absolutely terrifiedā€¦ plz send help. (And cinnamon pear redbull) Thank you all for putting up with my build wip spam pictures.
