So excited to share my lineup for ! We are just over a week away from the big show!!! I will be at my booth all weekend ( that’s CM803 - I’ll also have goodies for you guys if you come say hiiiii! 🥰)
On Friday I will be hosting a COSPLAY 101 Panel where I’ll break down how to get started in the magical world of cosplay @ 4:00 in room #603 !
I’ll also be participating in the Masters of Cosplay Competition on Saturday as a judge! I’m so excited for this contest - and cannot wait to see all of the incredible cosplayers! 🥰

Enjoy these snaps of this perfectly base painted armor because the next step is to MUCK it up with weathering. 😂
(Warning : progress rant below)

I’ve also come to the conclusion that I’m going to completely remake the toes/glove armor. They just aren’t as clean as I’d like them to be.
But I’m excited to paint the grime on this set. I’m hoping to give it a really nice patina. (Although putting teal on this makes me kinda wanna barf from nerves lol)

I’ve also run into a few issues with my cloth bits for this costume. (Hence why I haven’t posted any pics of them yet) I thought I was super happy with the skirt I made, but after re looking at it and trying it on with the armor, I absolutely hate it. 😭 Which -sucks- because I used the GOOD fabric( even after making a mock up) . But it is what it is. I want the skirt to have a robe effect and also incorporate a paneled look to it to match up with the scroll ribbons. Almost like a circle skirt but more structured but not pleats? Idk it’s frustrating… I want to up my tailoring/ sewing for this project so there’s going to be some trial and error.. but the “if I’m not good at it the first time” is really weighing on my motivation meter.

I’m also having a tough time trouble shooting the scale mail for the top. You should be able to see it between the belt and the chest plate, but there’s such a small gap I worry that if I make the scales out of metal/foam like I originally planned it’ll add wayyyyy too much bulk and ruin any sort of “shape” my waist has. I could make them out of fabric, which would be more comfy? But I worry it won’t give the right effect.

And THEN there’s the wig and the sword and the ears/makeup/ straps on all of the armor which I haven’t even began to think about yet 😕

All in all I’m happier with the way this looks now that I can see the colors blocked out. But I’m still pretty EH about it all. I just need to focus on one part at a time instead of letting it all run through my head at once… 😬

Base colors added! Don’t worry the paint job will get cleaned up and look 10 times better.

After putting the base colors on, I cannot wait to muck everything up with some weathering! 😋

Moooore progress! Really starting to see it all coming together! If you can’t tell I am doing everything in my power to make everything besides the chest armor… it’s super intimidating, but I am so jazzed with how everything is looking so far! It gives me hope that I’ll be able to knock out the chest easy peasy! Still have a LONG way to go!

Here’s a little close up on the paint job for my Witch Mercy cosplay! I wanted a cartoony/ stylized weathered look! Painting “wood” has been a frustrating experience , but im super happy with how it’s turning out!

I need to get some photos of her done!! Do you guys have any suggestions on locations ? 🤩

BROOOOOOM! 🎃🧙‍♀️

This is 100% one of my favorite props I’ve made so far! It was also my first time fully exploring 3D prints and all the elbow grease needed to make them look GOOD!

The top section of the staff is 3D printed, with small wooden dowels for the “wings”. I attached it to hand textured PVC pipe( shout out to Sorefeet for teaching me the ways of the Rasp) and created the “Broom head” out of 2 mm Eva foam from a quick eyeballed broom shape 😂.

Everything was hand sanded, filled, primed and painted with a base of Krylon 2in1 Sandable Primer, wood filler, Rustoleum antique gold Spray paint, and various Plaid Fx Acrylics!

I’m still going back and fourth between keeping this a Gold Weapon or painting it true to the skin. But over all I’m so happy with how it turned out! Going to refine the detail in the wood grain/ add a bit of extra weathering but over all she’s complete!! (Also toying with adding lights to it before my next convention!)

Shout out to Adrialla Cosplay for 3D printing the head of the staff! (Ps. Y’all need to go check out her MAGE MERCY on Instagram, is SO beautiful!)

I’ve got almost everything attached and ready for rigging/paint for the Legendary Paladin build designed by the amazing Zach Fischer! This has been such a fun build full of details (SO MANY GD DETAILS !! DANG YOU ZACH! 💜😂! )I cannot wait to get some plastidip and paint on this foam! It’s KILLING ME THAT THE WEATHER HAS BEEN SO POOPY! 😭 So it’s into the fabric portions of the costume next. I am absolutely terrified… plz send help.
