Here is a quick look at the afternoon severe weather briefing from National Weather Service.

• A potentially significant severe weather event unfolds tonight through Thursday morning from an approaching potent frontal system.
• Scattered showers & storms (possibly severe) should move onshore to the Panhandle into southeast AL this afternoon and early evening.
• A squall line then arrives ahead of a cold front tonight into Thursday morning. Strengthening winds preceding the line will also make for hazardous marine and beach conditions.
• The main threats from these storms will be damaging to destructive winds and a few tornadoes, a couple may be strong.
• The greatest risk areas (Enhanced, level 3 of 5) are in southeast AL and the FL Panhandle.
• Severe risk lingers through Thursday morning before ending by the afternoon for the southwest Georgia areas.

Timing: Please note that this timing chart is for the squall line passage. Some thunderstorms will be seen prior to these times.

THIS IS AMAZING!
Wall of snow last night. Notice lake effect snow band on left. Downtown Buffalo on the right. Look at the sharp cut off of snow. Easy to see why there can be such big differences over short distances.
