Rescue is Rewarding!
Hello everyone! Does anyone know what this is?
Couple of busy bees 🐝
Moonflowers!
I like sunflowers because they always face the sun, symbolizing positivity and hope. Their bright colors and large flowers bring a cheerful mood.
Seems to be a great year for all berries
Candytufts
The birds have come!
Some of my fruit harvest today.🍏🍇
Found small spider in my groundcherry plant. Friend or foe?
Starting beautiful day by smelling flowers
Not sure if this counts as a garden but I’m so proud 🥲
Somebody cleaning her nest and found a $5 how cute 🥰 it’s looks like a security deposit 😂
What is going on with my corn?!?
I started this practice of dividing my 500g pack of spaghetti into 10 portions last year, and it has been very helpful. I divide them into 10 equal parts, bind them together with rubber bands, and return them to the pack. Each time I want to cook spaghetti, I remove a portion and cook with lots of veggies and proteins to increase the volume and make it more filling.
One pack of spaghetti can take atleast three months or more because pasta is a simple carbohydrate. As someone on a weight loss journey, pasta should be consumed sparingly.
If you are on a weight loss journey, please consider this practice.
Different Ideas To Reuse Old Fabrics 😍👌
Built a vegetable washing station for down by the garden today. It's not quite finished but I wanted to try it out before the rain started.
Looking out at my patio that I stencil painted yesterday
Editing again due to same questions being asked many times.
DONT put your lily in a vase that is too big!! You need to be able to lift it into a sink to flush through water once every 3 weeks. That is all I do!!
No plant food at all and its flourishing, I have not had an algae build up at all in 4 months due to the water flush and I take a paper towel and wipe the inner rim where the water line is when I flush the water through.
PS I dont put fish in mine and I dont want too.... not enough room for them 😞
THANKYOU EVERYONE
SANDY
One of the most commonly purchased indoor plants is the Madonna or Peace Lily.
Did you know they grow and thrive so well in water?
Not a grain of soil..... just water, pebbles and gemstones in mine and heres a pic 😃
Ive edited as many are asking about water change!
I wouldnt be putting a large lily in a clear vase as I put mine under the kitchen sink tap every 2-3 weeks and turn tap on reasonably fast. This flushes out old water and puts in the new.
This plant was in soil 3 years before I changed it to water.
Just wash the soil off your plant roots and in it goes.
I get a little paper towel and wipe the inside top bit of vase when I change the water.
Mine is in my kitchen in filtered lig
I made a post on here showing how I heavily pruned my tomato plants to "show off their sexy legs"(to help with air flow)
I got so many mean and ignorant comments and lots of:
"UGH! I would NEVER!"
"You're going to get VERY little to no yeild from pruning that much!"
Lots of nay-sayers.
Well, here's my LITTLE TO NO FRUIT😏
As always:
Do what works best for YOU and learn something new everyday!
Also, check out those sexy legs🥰🥰🥰
High noon sun shining down on top of a tree.
An early morning view from my kitchen window a few days ago.
Perfect sunlight coming through the trees.
Thank you so very much for your wonderful and kind words!🥰
I know when we all take pictures, we sometimes try to capture the 'feeling' and when I took this one, I really think I captured the 'feeling' of our yard early that morning.❤️
Love this concept!
My tiny purple yarden last year this is the view from my dining room window 😍😍 from Kingston upon Hull in UK 🇬🇧
"The dandelion is the only flower that represents the three celestial bodies of the sun, moon, and stars: The yellow flower resembles the sun, the puff ball resembles the moons, and the dispersing seeds resemble the stars.
The dandelion flower opens to greet the morning and closes in the evening to go to sleep.
Every part of the dandelion is useful: root, leaves, flower. It can be used for food, medicine, and dye for colouring.
Up until the 1800s, people would pull grass out of their lawns to make room for dandelions and other useful “weeds” like chickweed, malva and chamomile.
The name dandelion is taken from the French word “dent de lion” meaning lion’s tooth, referring to the coarsely-toothed leaves. 🦁
Dandelions have one of the longest flowering seasons of any plant.
Dandelion seeds are often transported away by a gust of wind and they travel like tiny parachutes. Seeds are often carried as many as five miles from their origin!
Birds, insects, and butterflies consume nectar or seeds of dandelion.
Honey from bees pollinating dandelions is quite delicious. 🐦 🐛 🐜 🦋 🐝.
Dandelion flowers do not need to be pollinated to form seeds.
Root of dandelion can be used as a substitute for coffee.
Dandelion is used in folk medicine to treat infections and liver disorders. Tea made of dandelion act as a diuretic.
If you know dandelions, they’ll grow shorter stalks to spite you.
Dandelions are, quite possibly, the most successful plants that exist. They are masters of survival worldwide."

Green roofs at car parks in Japan provide crucial habitats for bees and other pollinators, essential for biodiversity.
Parking lot gardens represent a step forward towards urban sustainability, highlighting the importance of nature in urban spaces.
The will to live
