THE HEART OF THE STATION
•Since the board of the station identified a need for a more professionally managed Community Radio Station in 2006, they have embarked on this initiative for the benefit of the station coverage area. This journey proved very costly, but determined to succeed as the initiative is still up until today. Like and other soldiers out there, one would tire then the other picks
up the flag.
•All the legalities pertaining to the Licence Application were followed and engaged with the Community stakeholders as required by ICASA.
•Since the awarding of the Licence, the station now have the confirmation of a corporate sponsor who have agreed to sponsor the station with equipment and to house the station at the Mdantsane sun Hotel, this installation is currently in place.
•We are also pleased that the Buffalo City Metro Municipality has come on Board to sustain the Sentech on a monthly basis for the next six months.
•This infrastructure leads the station only to greater things to happen; it will use this valuable time to further establish, entertain, educate and inform. VISION:

OUR STAFF AND VOLUNTARY PRESENTERS RECRUITMENT PROSCESS
•The staff of the station has been recruited through Public Advertisement and proper interview processes conducted by both the representatives from the local Broadcasting School and the Experienced Radio Personality.
•We have given priority to the local applicants as we have already established the availability of potential within our local Municipality.
•A strict selection process was followed so as to ensure proper station representation and management in the areas of language use.
*BUILDING RELATIONSHIP WITH STKEHOLDERS
•Mdantsane FM provides a strategic vehicle to Companies, NGO’s, Organisations and government institutions to communicate its objectives, services and promotions through the stations programmes to the community.
•Mdantsane FM promotes the communication feedback and participation by the community of the stations reach.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
•Community Development Sectors form part of the Mdantsane FM Members.
•A community forum represent on the Station’s Programming Committee that informs the Station’s daily programming.
•Community members are co-opted as an ex-officio observer members into the Mdantsane FM Meetings for programme related matters.
•Community development matters are allocated slots within the daily programmes as timely and as relevant as possible.
•An annual sustainable support of the Station in areas of: Broadcasting Equipment Acquisition, Personnel Training, Equipment Maintenance and skills transfer is published for the community.
•A continual open door policy by the Station Communications Department for the community is ensured and communicated with the community. OUR COMMITMENT TO EFFECTIVE MANAGEMENT OF THE STATION
•As Mdantsane FM, we have recognised the talent that is within the Broadcasting area, hence we started applying for the Broadcasting Licence in 2006 and granted in late 2007.
•We have then understood the desperate actions of being on air demonstrated by our community members and it is for that reason the station exist.
•We have conducted already road shows around our broadcasting area, Great Kei, BCM,Ngqushwa and Amahlathi. RECOMANDATIONS
•The Mdantsane FM Board strongly recommends that the Station support and subsequent broadcasting be given for the benefit of our community, as we are already half way through the validity period of the Broadcasting Licence. Our community has long waited for this service.
•This is the long-term relationship that we want to create for the Community of the stations coverage.
•Our research has then driven us to conclude that the inclusion of all stakeholders on board guarantees nothing but a good working relationship. CONCLUSION
•The Mdantsane FM Board Members are very humbled with the opportunity to be driving this initiative and a chance to prove their willingness to see this long awaited service being delivered to the community of Buffalo City, Great Kei Municipality, Ngqushwa Municipality and that of the Amahlathi Municipality.
