I BOOKED A $2,000 RENTAL FOR A GROUP TRIP, BUT NO ONE PAID ME BACK THEIR SHARE OF THE COST – THEY DIDN'T GET AWAY WITH IT.
Alright, so every year, my friends and I plan a big group trip to a fun destination. This year, it was my turn to organize everything, and I was excited to take on the task. We decided on this beautiful lakeside cabin for a weekend getaway, and everyone was totally on board. The rental cost was $2,000 for the three-night stay, which broke down to $250 per person since there were eight of us.
I booked the rental and paid the full amount upfront, confident that my friends would pay me back as we had agreed. But as the trip got closer, I started getting excuses. First, it was "I'll get it to you next week," then "I just need to wait until my next paycheck," and eventually, some of them just stopped responding to my messages altogether. I was out $2,000 and feeling completely taken advantage of.
I decided it was time to teach them a lesson they wouldn't forget. Here's what I did:

I didn’t want to marry my fiancé until I knew I could give him a child, so when I finally got pregnant, I was beyond excited to start planning our wedding. I was trying on my first white gown, feeling all the emotions, when the worker strutted over with a condescending look and said:
“This is embarrassing. A white dress is for PURE brides. We don’t sell dresses for shotgun weddings here; we would never stoop so low. None of these dresses will fit that huge belly of yours, anyway, so don’t waste your time.”

“Look at this!” Lisa nudged Nancy. “A food challenge. We could eat for free if we win!”
Nancy glanced at her sister.
“I don’t know...” she started, but before she could finish, Lisa had already made up her mind.
“Come on, Nan! Pleaaase!” Lisa’s eyes sparkled with mischief.
“Alriiiight,” Nancy agreed, shaking her head with a smile. “Let’s do it.”
The waitress led them to a table by the window. When the challenge meal arrived, Nancy’s eyes widened at the sheer amount of crispy fried chicken on that plate!
Nancy took her first bite, but...she was struck by a sense of déjà vu. The flavors were so familiar. Too familiar.
With each bite, it grew stronger. She knew this taste so well because of only one reason. This was her late mother’s recipe.
The realization made her freeze. How could this be?!
"Mom passed away so long ago...we were just kids...Gosh, I thought I would never taste this again. But HOW?! Could she be alive?!" she thought.
“Nan, what’s wrong?”
Lisa’s voice broke the moment, but Nancy didn't want to reveal her thoughts.
It was too overwhelming. She rushed out of the diner, knowing what she had to do.
She’d find the truth.
