We’re live at ASH as the Trojans depart for New Orleans to compete in the LHSAA Prep Classic at the Caesars Superdome. They’ll take on Edna Karr for the Division I Select State Championship at noon this Saturday.
The Alexandria Fire Department, Rapides Fire District #2, an ambulance company, and City of Alexandria personnel responded to a house fire on Jill Street before 4 AM on Friday, December 13th. It is not known if anyone was injured in the fire, nor has the cause of the fire been determined.

Multiple reports of a fire were received in the Hynson Street area. A witness stated that the fire involved an abandoned structure. The incident was reported at 10:43 PM on Sunday, December 7. Later, at 11:49 PM, there was a report of a heavy police presence on Essie Street. It is unclear if the two incidents are related, and no injuries have been reported at this time. (unofficial)

UPDATE: Heavy Police Presence on Lower Third Street in Alexandria
The Alexandria Police Department and Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office are on the scene in the 3700 block of Lower Third Street following an incident involving a vehicle pursuit.
According to witnesses, police chased a vehicle before a man jumped out and fled on foot. One witness reported seeing the man carrying what appeared to be a rifle or shotgun.
Police have stationed units along the levee near Corporation Street to the north, and K9 units are actively searching for the suspect.

ORIGINAL POST: Shooting Reported on Lacassine Street in Alexandria (unofficial)
Witnesses reported hearing gunfire around 8 PM on Lacassine Drive. A heavy presence of Alexandria Police Officers, along with the Alexandria Fire Department and an ambulance company, was observed at the scene.
Witnesses believe at least one person may have been injured. We will provide updates, including official reports from the Alexandria Police Department, as soon as they are authorized for release by the Mayor’s Office.
